Hi All,

I noticed yesterday that Milly had a new tuft of fur on her leg. Today when I was playing with her I very gently pulled and a whole clump of fur came out! I tried again and more fur. I tried separating the fur to see if there was a bald spot underneath and all seems fine. No redness, baldness, etc. I haven't brushed her in a couple of days since I am at the cottage and I gave away this brush and forgot to bring the one from home. Any ideas what this could be?

She's just blowing coat. :-) Perfectly normal.
Wow, thanks! She's almost 6 (next week) and I've never seen that! And this time of year she doesn't usually shed a whole lot. Maybe indicative of an early winter in Canada ? What a relief! Thanks again :)

Sounds normal to me. *rolling eyes* Max is a fluffy and it's really something to see when he blows his coat.

It's called "tuft plucking." Very hard to resist.

I wonder if it could be made into an Olympic event?

LOL!  Yup, that it is!

I call that fur" cotton candy" because that's what it seems like when you pull on it.  You can just tell which tufts of fur are ready to come out .I think I'm addicted to de-furring them. I will have a whole pile of fur sitting next to me when I'm done.  LOL  They don't enjoy it quite as much as I do!

Hahaha! Thanks everyone:) she's never shed these tufts before but when I got home today and gave her a good brushing she's all shiny and tuft free. For the next five minutes or so before it regenerates :)
