I'm getting worried about Emma because I noticed a change in her "bowel" patterns lately.
She usually goes #2 three times a day (when she wakes up, at 3pmish and before bed). However I noticed last night when I took her out she squatted and nothing came out. It didn't worry me much then so I just took her to bed because I was sleepy too. But this morning when I had more time, I noticed that she kept on squatting and nothing came out!! She kept on circling then squatting and probably repeated that like 10 times before a little pebble came out.
I'm wondering if she could be constipated? But I searched on here and couldn't find much on it. We've been feeding her a same thing (Eukanuba Pure with salmon oil supplements) and nothing has changed with her diet. So I'm stumped at what can be causing it.

She could have gotten something somewhere and chewed it causing a blockage. If she doesn't poop this afternoon, I'd be tempted to take her to the vet for a look by him/her. Is she drinking and eating normally? If you gently feel her tummy, does she fuss? Pumpkin can relieve the constipation if it's not a blockage but I'd wait to see if she needs to go to the vet and I wouldn't wait til it's so late today that you can't get her an appointment for today. I tend to be pretty cautious with my dogs. Better safe than sorry.
She's eating and drinking normally. I'll call my vet today. Thanks for the info!
Try giving her some canned pumpkin (not the pie filler but the pure stuff)
Pumkin does wonders...if she's eating and drinking normally I would just watch her a bit. Maybe she had a day she didn't drink as much that day????

Hi Quynh,

Besides water intake, how long of a walk does she get in a day? Exercise promotes healthy BM, make sure you get your daily on leash outdoor walk, 45-60 mins, if she aint moving, she aint pooping.

Thanks for all of the tips. I called the vet and they recommended canned pumpkins and to call in a day if it remains. She exercises regularly - we take her on 2 brisk 40 minute walks a day. She's been chewing on random things lately because she's teething which worries me. So hopefully it's not a blockage..
sometimes pumpkin is hard to find I have used sweet potatoes also you can find them fresh and then just boil them tell they are soft.
