Hello all! Hope this is the right category for this discussion.
I know there's already been some discussions about corgis flying/in-cabin flying with your corgi but I don't think this question, per se, is out there.
I know no one can answer this for sure, of course, but my pup will be 5mo/some days when I want to fly home (from TX to NC in August = can't fly in cargo because of heat). She's the runt of the litter and pretty small. She weighs 7lbs.  @ 11 weeks. So my question is:

What do you guys think the odds are of her getting to fly in-cabin @ around 6 months of age?

I'm just curious, not going to jump the gun and buy a ticket too early but I was just wondering what your experiences were/what you thought.

Thanks!

My breeders flew their 3 year old Corgi, about 27 pounds, in-cabin in a Sherpa bag from CA to VA.  It is not impossible!  Not sure what airline they used though.

whoo hoo! that's good news, lol. ;) Definitely hope I can. thanks :)

I have seen an adult corgi brought on in a carry-on bag. I will say though, she was sooo smushed in there lol. Must have been a very well behaved dog because I never heard a peep from her either. This was a fairly short flight though, less than an hour.

lol, i definitely don't want to smush her! Plus it'll be a few hours flight w/ at least one layover. but maybe just maybe it'll work out that she won't be too big yet! definitely keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks for the input!!

Well I know service dogs can fly in cabin, but I don`t think that would apply for your little guy.

I have flown mine when she was about 1 year old from Sacramento to Atlanta via Salt Lake City.  It was in winter, but she flew in the cabin.  She was a bit tight in the bag, but she was fine.  I was more concerned than she was... it seemed.  It was  with Delta, but it was also long time ago, so their policy might have changed.  If I remember correctly, back then, the weight limit was 25 lb. and as long as your dog/bag can fit under the seat in front of you, it was fine.

sweet, good to know! I will be flying Southwest airlines most likely. the specs for the carrier size was like pretty long and wide but only 8.25" tall :-/ that's the part I'm worried about, hah. But we'll see. I'm gonna wait til at least mid july to try and get my ticket and hopefully she won't have a major growth spurt, lol. ;) Thanks for the reply!
