Cricket went to God yesterday.
Cricket went to be with God yesterday, he got hit by a car and died instantly. I have never felt the devastation of losing a beloved animal before. He was like our own flesh and blood. Hopefully healing will begin soon.

oh, I am so sorry. My prayers are with you. It is so hard to lose a loved one, especially our pet children. I lost a beloved pet in January and it seems to get easier, but the pain is never forgotten. Hint: Laugh and remember all the fun times.

WE ARE SO SO SORRY TO HEAR THE BAD NEWS ABOUT YOUR BELOVED CRICKET!! I DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL HELP YOU TO KNOW THAT THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO US IN JUNE TO OUR LITTLE PHINNEAS!!! (AGE 8MOS) HE WAS FATALLY HIT WHILE AT OUR CABIN AND DIED INSTANTLY WHICH I NOW TAKE COMFORT IN; AT LEAST THERE WAS NO SUFFERING FOR HIM!!! I KNOW YOU ARE HURTING BADLY NOW AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT IT WILL GET BETTER WITH SOME TIME!!! YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN YOUR HEART FOR HIM! PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOU!!! Oh little Cricket! I am sorry to hear about this Amanda - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and of course, with Cricket. When these things happen suddenly, it is devestating. I went right home and gave Gwynn and Al a bath and combed them.
I hope that before too long, when the pain has subsided, that you will have a new friend.
I will miss Cricket too. His life jacket photo is adorable. We dog-sat a corgi named Cricket once.

Oh Amanda! This breaks my heart for you! Having lost 2 of my own. Mine were like my children so I know exactly how you feel. I hope it is a comfort to you that so many people on this website share your lose. And we are truly so very sorry that your heart is breaking. Cricket IS in heaven!!! Let me assure you of that! God loves his animals very much and there are many references in the bible to animals in heaven. There are many books that can help you through this very difficult time.
