Franklin goes absolutely bonkers when I bring out the lazer pointer. He gets totally insanely quiveringly barking mad! He will only chase the beam for a little bit and then all he wants is the pointer itself. Do your corgis do this? He's too smart for his own good, my other dog never figured out that the beam came from the pointer and would chase the beam all day but Frank wants to kill the source of the beam. They are so funny!

Frosty LOVES the laser pointer!! More than our cats. He will chase and chase and chase as long as someone will run it around for him. He never wants to get the source of the laser (he know we are holding it). He will look at your hand, look at the floor, look at your hand, look at the floor, etc, etc lol. Every night before bed, we take Frosty out in the yard and run him up and down the yard for about 15 minutes with the laser pointer to wear him out so we can go to bed. Here's a video of Frosty & the laser pointer:

Just watch for signs of obsessive behavior; dogs can develop OCD over lights and shadows. We won't use one with Jack because he behaved bizarrely around it. He would not stop looking for the dot once we put the laser away.
Loki love his laser.
He will ditch his ball for his laser.
It is so cute because he thinks that is his
and Dads play time. So he doesn't ask for
it until Chaun gets home from work.
Then if Chaun doesn't  catch on or acts
like he doesn't know Loki wants his laser.
Loki will bark at him the jump up to show
Dad where the laser is.
I have a video of him asking for his laser.
Ein loves chasing the laser, though I don't think he actually cares about where it goes, he just loves to run around the house. Even when we stop pointing it he'll keep running back and forth.
Toby LOVES the laser pointer. He'll chase it any time. It is a great alternative to chasing him around our apartment when I want to wear him out. It's a keychain, so it makes noise when I pick it up. Whenever he hears the jingle jangle of me getting it out, he immediately starts looking around on the floor. It's so cute!
Our corgi/doxie mix figured out the laser pointer in 15 minutes and didn't care about it anymore. Our Labrador never figured it out and chased it. The cat had the same reaction as the corgi/doxie.
Twinkie really likes the laser pointer too. She will follow it as long as we are willing. Lately, she has been seeing the reflection my watch makes in the afternoon sun, and wants to chase it too. I can imagine her saying, "Ooh, shiny...get the shiny thing!"
Archie loves his laser as well. When you turn it on it sounds like the click of a pen, and the other day I had a contractor at my house giving me and estimate on some work, he clicked his pen, and Archie started hopping around and whining. The contractor asked me if he was OK, I explained, and he got the biggest kick out of clicking his pen and watching Arch's behavior.
Well, it is why clicker training is so effective. :)
Milly is completely disinterested. She looks at the light and then at us and walks away, heheh.
Edison loves the laser pointer! He knows where the source of it is- he starts frapping every time we point it, whether or not the light is actually on- but it does not seem to diminish the thrill of the chase. It's most hilarious when we shine it on a polished part of our floor, sending Edison racing between the floor spot and wall reflection. :)
My Taffy "asks" my husband to get out his laser pointer to go out at night and play or run up and down the stairs with it....She asks by staring at his hand and flipping out and making her "I want to play laser" bark. You Corgi owners know they have their special barks! It is so adorable. She will nose at his pocket if he put the laser in there....she knows....she also digs out candy from his pocket, but that is another topic!
