My husband works with a man who is retiring very soon (like within the next month).  He and his wife have a two year old female tri corgi and are considering the future of their little fur baby because they are moving to Peru after he retires and they are concerned about how hot it gets there.  My husband & I have offered to take the bunny butt if they choose not to take her with them.  This weekend, they have something they are attending out of town and asked if we would babysit--I think it is a trial period to see how the 2 girls get along before they make their decision.  My husband has already told his friend that if they don't work out together or if we can't handle 2 corgis that I can probably find someone that would love to adopt her and give her a loving forever home.  Any way, our house guest will be coming this evening and this will be the first time Ellie has been with another corgi since her siblings and parents.  We don't even know the other dogs name yet, but her and Ellie are only about 6 months apart in age and I've heard she is very easy tempered just like Ellie.  So, I hope they have a fun weekend with each other.

This Ellie is very jealous!  She wishes she had a corgi friend, too!  ;)  Hopefully it all goes well and they have lots of fun this weekend.

How fun to have a buddy!  Something you may want to consider before bringing the other corgi into your corgis territory is to introduce them on neutral grounds, take them for a walk, and tire them out!!  After coming back from your walk, bring them on leash into the backyard together and then proceed to bring them into the house together on leash.  Have a great time!!

I hope you all have a good weekend.  After a few sniffs I bet they will be running around like two buddies.  They may have a spat or two, but after the ground rules are set things should be fine.

If your husband's co-worker and his wife love their dog and want to keep her, it would not be a problem to have the dog in Peru.  I know a lot of people who live in Florida with Alaskan Malamutes.... they keep them indoors during the hot parts of the day in their air conditioned homes and they do just fine.  Dogs, like people, can adapt to many different circumstances along with their people. If I moved to Peru, my animals would all be coming with me and I bet my bottom dollar that most people on this site would not part with their dogs either.
