EMERGENCY ADOPTION NEEDED!!! - UPDATE

It has been brought to my attention that the following possible corgi mix has been picked up in Ottumwa, IA and is scheduled to be destroyed TOMORROW afternoon! I am not able to keep him, but if anyone is interested, I am more than willing to pick him up, pay adoption fees and deliver him to you this weekend. I am willing to meet you halfway if you live in any state surrounding Iowa. I just got off the phone with the local police department who gave me the following update:

He is still there. Adoption fee before 4pm today would be $101. Adoption fee tomorrow morning after 8am (which is probably when I will have to go get him) is $110. He WILL BE DESTROYED tomorrow afternoon.

UPDATE: Just got word from Wylie's foster family that he was adopted yesterday and has gone home with his forever family. Woohoo for Wylie!!

Wish I was closer so I could help out. I do NOT understand why these places RAISE the price on the day the dog is to be destroyed, they should just give the dog to someone willing to take it and give it a good home. It almost seems like the would rather kill the dog than find it a home. It is so upsetting and frustrating to see this happen every day!!

They are charging a daily boarding fee of $9 and that's why the price was going up. He is being held by the police dept, so they charge a boarding fee every day, and then if nobody adopts/claims the dog after a predetermined (by the city) number of days, it is put down.

UPDATE: Looks like I am going to pick him up tomorrow morning. I have found a rescue in MN willing to foster him, so we are driving him up to the border on Saturday. Feel so proud of myself for helping out! I rock! lol!!!

UPDATE II: Wylie has officially been adopted and moved in with his new family. Here is a picture they sent me of Wylie with his new brother Jax. They are super buddies lol.
