I know that white on the ears, on the back, or over the hocks can make a corgi not acceptable for show, but what about face markings?

For example, I've seen a picture of a corgi that had a blaze that gets quite thick between the eyes, but they don't go past the eyes, would that not be acceptable because the blaze is so thick?

You're talking about Pems, right? They can have a wide blaze but most people don't like them. I am no Pem expert but I think the dog would have to be really outstanding for a breeder to try to show one with a lot of white on the face.

Cardigans - we love those big fat blazes! We also allow white ears, white coming up the sides, etc. A lot of the markings that the Pem standard specifically forbids we enjoy. Cardigans can't have white around both eyes but white around one eye is a grey area. Not ideal but not completely out of the question. We're not supposed to have a predominantly white head but you can certainly have a lot of chrome on the dog.
