So i am leaving tomorrow for a week long adventure. I am staying with a few friends in order to job hunt and go to a few interviews in different towns around Michigan.

Both houses own a single dog of their own, and Roslyn gets along with both dogs very well.

The problem i have noticed is that when she first goes to homes with other dogs she tends to mark once or twice her first day there. Both friends are very understanding about it, and we all know that it is so she feels more comfortable in a new situation... but i still want to break her of this habit.

i am going armed with Natures Miracle and I am going to walk her around with a leash for the first few hours... so i can catch her in the act and correct her. I am going to bring her kennel, bed and toys.

Is there anything else i can do? To be honest it really embarrasses me when she marks... even if the others are so understanding. yes i know marking is completely natural, but for some reason i feel like it is a direct report on how i am a bad owner. :(

If any of you have any sort of trick or training that you have used in the past, please let me know!

Oh yes... she is fixed, but it has only been 3 months and she was 4 yrs old when i rescued her. Just in case that is relevant.

I hate to say this but I think frequently when they mark in a strange place it is because some urine scent from the other dog is still there. Most people do not clean spots as well as they should. I would also leash at first so you can keep a close eye on her. Good luck!
