Grain free food? Taste of the Wild or Canidae?
I'm thinking about switching Orion and Laika to grain free food. Orion loves his Purina One but recently started having HORRIBLE gas, especially when he sleeps. Bad gas I can live with, but Laika recently started to be insanely itchy. She has raw patches under her arm pits from where she's scratching and she practically can't function. She can't walk from point A to point B without stopping multiple times to scratch. I've washed her with anti-itch shampoo and conditioner, it even had hydrocortisone in it, and the scratching stopped for about 30 minutes then started up again. She's very uncomfortable and I've heard a lot about food allergies causing this. She also has had soft poop since I got her. Their food has corn in it so I'm wondering if that could be the culprit so I thought about switching to grain-free foods. A lot of grain free foods are for adult dogs but Canidae and Taste of the Wild are for all life stages. Is this too high protein for my pups? Has anyone else used these foods and if so, how did your corgis do on it? Anyone's dogs have a grain allergy?
And what about AvoDerm? It doesn't have corn it it but it does have rice bran and oat bran. And I've heard avocados can be toxic. I've also heard good things about the Blue Buffalo puppy food, it doesn't have corn in it, its grain source is whole ground brown rice, whole ground barley, and oatmeal.

i feed my cardis Orijen.. started in December and have had great success with it! They love it and not to mention they look great too!

UPDATE
So Laika and Orion have been on the TOTW food for 10 days now and her scratching has decreased tremendously! She's still scratching more than I'd like but she's no longer waking up in the middle of the night scratching. I'd wake up at least every two hours to hear her foot thumping against her kennel from her scratching and she wouldn't be able to make it across the room without stopping multiple times to scratch or chew her feet. So hopefully after a few more weeks the scratching will be totally gone! She also laid in an ant pile on friday afternoon and her belly was covered in bites so that hasn't helped the itchiness either, but even with those ant bites the itchiness is way less than 10 days ago. I'm so glad to see her so much more comfortable now :) Also, her poop looks way better now too and they love the food. We also have grain-free Wellness jerky snacks for treats and they love them

The "High PraIrie" flavor. Laika's itching is totally gone now and Orion only has terrible gas if we feed him turkey now too (we made turkey sandwiches the other night and fed Orion some, only to regret it later) so I'm very happy with the results. Her belly used to be all red and now it's a normal whitish pink color and the skin is a lot softer. Also, their coats look a lot healthier and shinier since the new food. Laika did have another flair up of itchiness for a few days last week but it was after I caught her eating deer poop (ew!) and my neighbor puts corn out for the deer which leads me to believe she has a corn allergy so I may try intoducing things one at a time to see if she is allergic to all grain or just corn. Even if it's only corn though I will be keeping them on TOTW because they love it so much and they look great :) hopefully it's only a corn allergy so she's not limited so much in what treats she can have, right now I'm only giving her grain free Wellness treats and chicken jerky

Mine hated Canidae so are on Taste of the Wild. I would have them on Orijen if it was readily available around me.

We have a terrier Mix that has horrible allergies. She gets to the point of scratching and licking herself to make big sores. We bath her in baby shampoo or Paul Mitchell Dog shampoo, because they are both Ph balanced and help tremendously with the skin.We give her one 25mg pill of benedryl when we see the allergies are inflamed and do everyday until she is pink and not RED! We feed her canidae ALS and that works great. I did feed her 2 bags of the overweight canidae and she did ok and then broke out again. Our corgi Puppy who is 11weeks old has shown no signs of anything so far!! we shall see! JP will eat the canidae over science diet which her vet pushes like a drug dealer:-) Good luck!

Has anyone had any experience with this product?
It got 5 stars as did Orijen, and Taste of the Wild, but its cost was only $$ compared to $$$ and $$$$ for the others. Canidea rated 4 stars with a $$ cost.
