Heel Nipping...Suggestions

I love my corgi to death, but she does have some behavior issues that could be fixed. The most important is heel nipping and biting. My Granny lives next door and often comes over to visit and we also go over there. My Lizzy has a great fondest for biting and nipping at her heels. I know that it's in their nature, but I'm afraid she's going to make me or my Granny fall off the back porch one day from biting at our heels as we go inside. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Have you tried distracting her when she does this? How old is she? Riley did the same thing when he was younger (he is now 8 months), he has grown out of it. I have read they are trying to get attention, stop moving, don't scold, when they stop give them a ball or something else, tell them good girl or good boy. Might be worth a try. Riley did grow out of it. I had the hardest time getting my husband not to react in a negative way :) I don't believe in negative discipline, it's never worked for me.

She didn't do it when she was younger, but now that she is eight months old, it's become sort of a game for her. I try to stand still when she tries to nip at me, but when she comes up behind you and really lets you have it, I have to say it's hard to stand still, because you really just want to fall down and cry. Either way - I'll keep trying. Thanks.
