I just bought my corgi on January 10th. Her name is Annie & she's 12 weeks old. This may sound a little stupid, but she acts very affectionate towards some people but towards me she doesn't. For example when I "baby talk" to her, she doesn't do much. But if for example my step dad starts talking to her, she puts her ears down and gets on her tummy and wants all of his attention and I don't understand because she is with ME all day and I'm the one who feeds her! what is going on here!

She's just used to you. I think most of us on here will tell you that all of our dogs love us, but they don't just go crazy over us a lot of the time, but if another person comes over... watch out! It's just because it's someone different. I'm sure she loves you very much and would be very sad if you weren't around. The times I've had to leave my dogs for several days with someone else, they are VERY excited to see me again. =)
hahaha. I had the same thing with Nibbler initially. I was home with her 24/7 over summer, from when she was 8 weeks old to 4 months old, and my bf worked all day. It was obvious she preferred my bf which actually broke my heart a little bit. He kept reminding me that he was probably "more interesting" because he was there less often than me. You know what though? She is 9 months old now, and if I wake up before my bf, she follows me out of the room and sits in the bathroom while I do my makeup. Or if it's reversed and my bf wakes up first, she jumps up and crawls in his spot next to me and stays there until I wake up. So don't get too upset over it, she is definitely bonding to you, but she probably doesn't feel the need to show it because you are her constant companion and she doesn't need to impress you!
yep, I'm a stay at home mom and when my husband and kids come home I might as well be invisible!!! The Corgis use me for their wants and needs all day long...just a slave to their cuteness I guess...even if they ignore me!!!!
Bacon. Adventures. Tennis ball. Walks. Frisbee. Snuggles. Walks. She'll get the idea.
Heck, 95% of the time I'm home, these two ingrates are SLEEPING!
I think that most of us humans who have lived with someone else for a very long time will tell you that we are much more animated and aware of the social graces with those we see infrequently than with those who are by our side day in and day out. :-)

It's the same with dogs.
Thank you so much everyone! I feel a lot better about this now =)
