My little angel eats EVERYTHING! I just had to call our local 24 hour emergency vet over the weekend. I had envisioned the worst.I know it may sound a little silly to some of you, but he ate a rubber band and a rock! When I called they said I had two options. One was to bring him in and they would make him vomit and the other option was to wait 48 hours and wait to see if he poops it out. Keep an eye on him and watch for any lethargy or change in him or possibly tenderness in his tummy. If he stops pooping there is an obstruction and I will need to bring him in! He is only 4 months old so a rock and a rubber band(which was not one of those small ones) is big for a little guy! Making him vomit most likely would not would not work they said. An x-ray would only show if there was an obstruction. Obviously, I had to wait it out. I remembered something about giving them pumpkin to pad their intestines from a previous emergency when my sisters corgi swallowed a sewing needle! (She ended up having surgery!) That is a totally different story.... Anyways, I decided to try this. Pumpkin is not an easy thing to find in our markets right now, lol but I did find some. I mixed two teaspoons with each meal and I am sooooooooo happy to report we got the rubber band and rock out of corgi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly think If I had not remembered this from the previous emergencey we would have had a totally different outcome. The rock was a very good size and I doubt he would have been able to pass it on his own along with the rubber band! Just thought I would share this....
