Just a little fyi for all you who have corgis that get into everything!

My little angel eats EVERYTHING! I just had to call our local 24 hour emergency vet over the weekend. I had envisioned the worst.I know it may sound a little silly to some of you, but he ate a rubber band and a rock! When I called they said I had two options. One was to bring him in and they would make him vomit and the other option was to wait 48 hours and wait to see if he poops it out. Keep an eye on him and watch for any lethargy or change in him or possibly tenderness in his tummy. If he stops pooping there is an obstruction and I will need to bring him in! He is only 4 months old so a rock and a rubber band(which was not one of those small ones) is big for a little guy! Making him vomit most likely would not would not work they said. An x-ray would only show if there was an obstruction. Obviously, I had to wait it out. I remembered something about giving them pumpkin to pad their intestines from a previous emergency when my sisters corgi swallowed a sewing needle! (She ended up having surgery!) That is a totally different story.... Anyways, I decided to try this. Pumpkin is not an easy thing to find in our markets right now, lol but I did find some. I mixed two teaspoons with each meal and I am sooooooooo happy to report we got the rubber band and rock out of corgi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly think If I had not remembered this from the previous emergencey we would have had a totally different outcome. The rock was a very good size and I doubt he would have been able to pass it on his own along with the rubber band! Just thought I would share this....

Good to know! Glad everything came out all right in the end (pun intended). When I was a little kid, we had a Springer Spaniel who would swallow anything she found inside on the floor: fuzz, paper--- she once ate a thumb tack. Some of them just swallow. Luckily my two are always looking for something to eat, but don't swallow anything inorganic.
We have two beautiful corgis. But my pincess eats anything and everything. Rocks are her favorite, but if she can't get rocks she'll eat paper, leaves, twigs, grass, anything. I have been on poop patrol more times then I care to count, (making sure she is pooping after eating rocks). I can tell which poop belongs to which corgi. I wish I knew what to do. We keep a very careful eye on them to try to make sure they are not getting in to things, but every once in a while she still does. I love her more then I ever thought you could love an animal, so it just worries be to pieces when she has a tummy ache. How does the pumpkin treatment work? Do you just use it when you think they have gotten into something? (I will keep a can on hand just for her). If any one has any other ideas please offer them to me.
Glad to know it ended well. Gotta love the little Hoovers we call Corgis!

I have a cat that eats clothing (yes eats, he's eaten almost an entire xl mens tshirt once. After the tshirt I called my vet and was told almost the same thing as you, only my vet told me to try and get some oil down him to help lube him up.

Surprisingly he did pass it, he was miserable for two days but he passed it. Moronic feline is still alive surprisingly and will still eat clothing if you aren't ultra vigilant. I'll keep the pumpkin in mind if we have another incident.
I've heard bread is great, too, which I have used when my two corgis have eaten anything that has alarmed me. When D ate something she shouldn't have, the vet told me to fill her up on bread. Helps the object move through faster and also keeps it padded. So any time my pups get into stuff, or I think they might have, they get a piece or two of bread through out the day.
