Loner Corgi

In the last 2-3 weeks, Camber has become a loner. She use to sit on our couch or in the corner of our living room on her thin padded mat. All of sudden, she does not want to sit around us. She’ll go as far as she can from us to spend her time.

She is eating fine, loves her walks, and sleeps on our bed with us. This behavior first started after our neighbor’s dog Buster was in our condo. She is fearful of most dogs and I don’t think she a fan of Buster, but they’ve had plenty of interaction. We went to parent’s summer house and she usually sits on the couch or under the kitchen table, but now went upstairs into my bed room’s bathroom to hang out. Very odd; what do you think is going on?

Mine like to lay on the bathroom tile when it is hot so maybe that is what she is doing. She could be a little worried after the visit from the other dog too. Just continue as normal and pet her and talk nicely eventually she will probably be fine. This is my Izzy in one of her favorite spots in the entryway. She is very social but obviously sometimes just needs a break.

She might not be feeling well. Dogs will go off by themselves if they aren't feeling great. Check to see if she's limping, has a sore mouth, or is touchy anywhere. She also could just need time to herself. Rosie does this if we have lots of people she doesn't know around who are making more noise than she likes.

Our Minnie started spending more & more time outside or in my walk in closet when we started having kids. She loves the outdoors even in this humid, Michigan heat - I think it's actually helping her joints. She will come to me or my husband for love a few times a day, but she seems quite content & this has been her habit for about 7 years. (she is 10 in October).
However - Fergie the pup - almost 8 mos, only wants peace & quiet when she is super tired and is quite cat like in finding a good hiding spot from the kids. Otherwise she is where we are.

As long as the vet gives her a clean bill of health, I think it's just a new facet of Camber's personality. I know this is an older post, but hope it helps.
