Hi everyone!
I've been doing my research, and have decided to finally adopt a corgi! I've been in love with corgi's since I was in junior high, and I am now 23 years old :)
I live in Chicago, and I have been searching through many breeders and shelters. As a first-time dog owner, I think it would be best for me to get a dog that's at least 1 or 2 years old.
I haven't had any luck finding a young/adult corgi; I've only come up with puppies. If anyone has information please let me know! Thank you!

Have you checked with any breeders to see if they have any retired dogs? Meaning retired from using for breeding. they might be 4-6 but that still is plenty young...just a thought.
I have contacted several breeders in Illinois, Indiana and a few in Wisconsin, but so far none have any older corgi's available, just puppies =\
Have you checked with rescues and such, as well?
The breeder I just got my puppy from has an older dog (male) she is selling. I know Michigan is a little far from you but you could check into if you're interested. It's DeKunst Kennels in Carson City Michigan.
Do you have a car? Corgi Connection Of Kansas has some really wonderful dogs ready for new homes after their time in foster homes. I am sure that a transportation train could even be worked out. Midwestern dogs lovers unite! Please, please give their webpage a look.
PS-They take in dogs from all over the Midwest. I think they work miracles!
Thank you for all of your help!
I applied for this adorable guy and spoke with the woman who is fostering him this morning!

There is one other applicant she has to interview. Please keep your fingers crossed that she chooses me! My heart is melting for him!
I got approved! Tucker will be coming home with me on Saturday! Yay!!!
YEAH!! Congrats to you!
Oh my goodness, congratulations! :D Be sure to spoil him like crazy! Sounds like he's had quite a life.
Congratulations! He has a lovely thick coat to keep him warm in winter. He may "shed" a couple of pounds when he blows that coat -- haha! (Description says he's 39 lbs. so he's a tad overweight, IMO.) Best wishes for you and Tucker.
CONGRATULATIONS...I love my rescues and swear they "know" you saved them:) PS...unless this dog is leash trained...PLEASE get him a martigale collar for his safety!
