So I got my puppy 3 weeks ago and she was on Purina Puppy Chow. I wanted to get her on something better without spending a ton. I was gonna switch to Nutro Ultra but did not like the reviews or all the recalls they've had. So I chose Blue Buffalo. Skye has been on it a week and she is now not eating it. I'm still mixing food and she was picking out the Purina and leaving the Blue. I don't like the ingredients in Purina and want a better food she'll like. I need suggestions on healthy dog food.

Thanks

Grover eats Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato. He went through a phase when he was puppy where he was a picky eater. When I got him from the breeder, she was feeding Puppy Chow! I switched right after I got him to Canida gradually from the Puppy Chow. He did fine at first, but then he started to get picky about it and wouldn't eat it all. Plus, where I live you can only get this dog food at a specialty dog kennel store place that had terrible hours. I switched him to the Wellness at about 4 months or so. I feed the Wellness Puppy first then to the adult food. It took a couple tries to find a flavor that he liked but he loves it now. I debated between Wellness and Blue Buffalo, but the Wellness was easier to find here and Grover likes it a lot. He's healthy, has a shiny coat, and full of energy.
i have teddy on wellness. now that he is on it he is doing really well! full of energy and a shiny coat very very healthy pup. but i will admit that i believe it is too rich for SOME puppies. when i switched snoopy over to it i had no problems but when i tired to switch teddy over the 1st time was my fault for switching to fast but when i tried again it took almost 3weeks to switch him over. but i think it was good to take your time and not what they tell u on the bag. wellness is a great brand and im not bashing it at all just telling u what happened with my pups:) i havnt had the problem where he gets picky as teddy cant get enough food! lol but i will say that every pup goes through that phase and she will get passed it:) try putting some chicken in her food or when she eats more of the blue buffalo give her a piece of chicken or her favorite treat. i did this for my moms dog and it seemed to work
http://www.orijen.ca/orijen/about/

We use orijen and have great results (minus a few minor tantrums refusing to eat during the switch from puppy to adult food for our oldest corgi)
We recently got a trainer who is very into diet, and said if we werent already using orjen he would have asked us to switch to it. It is a bit more expensive but it really is great. We also feed raw eggs and bone marrow (boiled for 2 minutes prior to feeding)
Oh yes, the Orijen is wonderful! This is what I use and I am in love with it. I do pay a little more per bag, however, I find that the bag is lasting me a lot longer than on some previous foods. And depending on what food you feed it isn't always that big of a price gap. I've seen some other foods that are awful foods, and only maybe $10 difference on a 30lb bag, which isn't that big of a deal on a bag that big.
Don't do Nutro for sure!

This is what we use. And there's even a Corgi on the website! :D We have a full grown Corgi and 2 pit bull puppies. It's great nutrition for dogs of any age. And all of them love it. I researched foods a lot and this has always been my favorite. It also has Biotin in it which is great for skin, nails and hair. I actually take a biotin tablet everyday.

I look at brands like Purina and all the store brands like fast food. Like McDonald's. It sure tastes good but its not good for you. Hope this helps!
