Does anyone know of a pet friendly pesticide that I can get at my basic store? I have spiders and other creepy crawlers coming in my home! And I would really love something that won't harm my pooches.

Elizabeth, brown recluses are actually not in your state. The odd one can show up anywhere, in a package of produce or something, but no bug treatment will keep out bugs carried in with the groceries. :-)

Here's some info on black widows. I was basically always told to wear gloves and long pants/boots etc when cleaning ou wood piles, cluttered basements, boxes in attics, etc. I would not say I'm 100% diligant, but I am pretty careful because there are lots of other things that can hurt you in those places too.

Remember, pesticides increase the risk of lymphoma in your pets. I like that you are looking for natural alternatives. Like wasps and hornets, the best thing to do about spiders is try to keep the place from being too attractive, be sensible when you tackle areas where they might be, and scan frequently for signs they are setting up residence.

Good luck!
Thanks everyone. Luckily we hardly have an flea problems here in Wenatchee. But yes I'm trying to keep spiders out. And I don't want to use pesticides due to the risks it causes animals that's why I am going to go with the mint mixed with water to keep bugs away. You guys are such help! I learn something new everyday.

How about getting a cat? My kitty eats the spiders and bugs that get into the house :)

I would love a cat but I'm very allergic to them... Everyone in my family is. I'm allergic to a handful of things so I have to be careful.
