We got our puppy 2 weeks ago and she was 2 lbs 12 oz. And she went to the vet yesterday and is now 5 lbs. She was eating 1/4 cup three times a day. But the vet said she needs a cup a day because I told him she acts like she has never eaten when I go to feed her. She is chunky!! She is on Purina puppy chow but this weekend we are getting her Blue Buffalo. How much should I be feeding her?

please do switch really slow. i maid the biggest mistake by switching too fast and teddy got very ill. (hes fully on wellness now which i am happy about) i took teddy 3weeks to fully switch. but i know what u mean about when they eat they still act like they dont eat lol he goes crazy after his food bowl is empty. i feed his 1/2 three times a day. and teddy does look chunky but i think thats because he is still very young:)
Yeah I was planning on taking about that long. Especially with the change in quality of food she could get really sick. Also heard too many bad things about switching too fast. What made you decide on wellness? I was doing lots of research and still hoping I made the right choice!
Finn ate Blue puppy food. His breeder had him on Purina One and we switched. he did really well on Blue.
Is he still on it or did you switch. If you did how come?
When we went to adult food I switched only because I thought a change would be good plus he was a little gassy and I though a different food might do away with that. I went to Wellness which his stomach didn't tolerate at all (the vet thinks he had an allergy to something in it) so we then went to Natural Balance which he has been eating ever since and does great with it.
When ein was a pup I could just leave food in his bowl and he would only eat till full. As he got older we had to change that and now fully grown he gets 1 cup in the morning and 1/4 to 1/2 cup at night and he weighs about 24-26 pounds but he is working dog size. For a puppy that small try 1/2 cup or a little more twice a day. You didn't mention if you give treats or not... I find that plain white rawhide twists, carrots, and green beans are great for them. Also with our German sheppard he had a sensitive tummy as a pup and we gave him cooked chicken livers for dinner to help. He was a runt but now is the biggest out of all his litter mates.
