I was wondering (for way far in the future reference lol) if there is a way to tell whether or not a RHT puppy will have a black "crown" left on their heads or not?

I like the extremes of tri Corgis--a lot of black on the BHTs, almost no tan. And on the RHTs, I like no black best.

Thanks:D

On a RHT, the black on the head usually fades completely, but it can take several years to do so.

the best way to tell is looking at the ears, if the are all red then they will be but if the tips are black then they will be a normal tri. when i picked out baden i could see at 3weeks that he was going to be because he had little red hairs coming in at the top of his head and around his eyes. his brothers head was completely red by 7weeks but baden is still molting at a slower rate. they all change at different speeds as i just described with him and his brother. his breeder didnt think he would be but when i showed her the ears then she was like "i guess u were right" baden will have a little bit of black on his head like his daddy, unlike his brother who is completely red by now (5months)

this is him at 5weeks

him at 9weeks

him now,at 5monthssee the red still coming in? it will probably take up a year for it to fully come in
