Any rules I should adhere to when running with my corgi? She's a year and 5 months-ish, and our typical routine goes a little like: I take her for a short 15 minute run/walk session in the mornings to warm up for my workout/get her some exercise, keep a check on her paws (inspect them when we get back) and I run slow (lol, not because of her--just in general).
Sound ok? She sleeps a bit afterwards but seems to be pretty content when we do these run/walks. Just curious if you guys would do anything different. :)

I think that sounds fine. She should be pretty well developed by now skeletally (is that even a word?) so should be able to work up to much longer distances. Franklin and I used to regularly do 4+ miles (me rollerblading....I don't run) starting when he was about 2 years old. He was off leash so got to choose his speed and I would try to mimic his pace. He regularly gets a lot of running and swimming so I do give him a joint supplement as a precaution because I know high activity can be tough on their little bodies.
A 15 min run at human speed doesn't sound too intense. I do try to keep dogs off the hard pavement when running with them though because they don't have impact absorbing shoes like I do. Pavement also gets really hot! When I skate with dogs and they really get going, I definitely try to get them on the grass/dirt to save their paws and joints.
Might be impossible to avoid if you live deep in a city or something though...
thanks for the input you guys :)
Jane--it's not even a mile...maybe 3/4 of a mile maybe a little less--around the neighborhood and I run VERY very slow.
