Has anyone read or seen this book ? I was wondering if it would be good for animal lovers?

Not sure Jane, have you read any excerpts on Barnes & Noble.com ?
Hi Jane,
I think it depends on the type of reader your animal lover friend is. The Bond is a great visionary book with little short tales here and there and historical accounts. If your friend prefers storytelling like books, I recommend these three as well.
The Dogs who Found me by Ken Foster
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
Unlikely Friendships by Jennifer S Holland
Jane,
It's up to you but personally I would not support anything that sent money to the HSUS. As a horse person, I became very aware of animal rights organizations (as opposed to animal welfare groups). They can, in my opinion, be very good at pushing a radical agenda very subtly. Those of us who enjoy animal sports feel that the animal rights groups pose a very serious threat to the future existence of most animal sports.
For some bizarre reason, we recognize that people tend to be terribly bored and unhappy without meaningful work, but give an animal meaningful work and they label you as "abusive." They also have pushed for mandatory spay/neuter laws.
IMO they hide a radical PETA-like agenda behind a slightly friendlier face. Just my opinion.
Beth,
All opinions are welcome!!!!! Thank you!
