The Day I Have Been Waiting For.......Overnight Visit With My Niece!!

Hello All,

The chance I've wanted is finally happening, I get to have my niece at my house for a couple of days overnight.  She is 19 months old and just a bundle of energy and noisy!!!  The reason I am writing this here, is because I am looking for advice on how to handle having a toddler at my house with a corgi who isn't used to having little ones around.  I have an idea of how I am going to handle this but was wondering if maybe any of you had any better ideas, I have not thought of.

I am thinking of gating him off in a section of the kitchen while she is here, just letting him get used to the idea of her running around and making lots of noise.  If I go to pick her up, I am pretty sure he is going think he needs to protect her.  I know I have to make sure he knows who is in charge, but not having a toddler around on a full time basis makes it hard to teach your dog around little ones.

I want to make the stay enjoyable for all.

So when can we start expecting pics???
Noodles isn't used to being around little kids either, but when I watch my nephews (ages 6.5, 4 and 2), if Noodles gets tired of being around them, he will go usptairs and sleep underneath the bed. That is his safe spot and his retreat from all the chaos going on in the house. We've never had them stay the night, so I'm not going to be much help on that one. I also find it funny when the boys pick up a toy in order to get Noodles to play with them, Noods will look at me first to get my approval and then ever so gently take the other end of the toy. Noodles loves the fact that little kids are closer to his face so he can constantly give them kisses. Good luck and I'm sure the boys will have fun.
Griffin has always been great with the grandkids (youngest is 3).  No nipping or herding.  He does get worn out, though, and goes into his crate to rest.  When I tell Sidney, the 3 year old, not to bother him since he's taking a nap, she says," but his eyes are OPEN"!
