UPDATE: DO NOT USE PROTEGE AUSSIE RESCUE (Australian Shepherd needs good home)

UPDATE:

I found out today that this "rescue" organization where I turned this dog over to, put him down.  I am absolutely furious and sick to my stomach.  I sent this dog to its death.  I never had any problems with this dog--with myself, husband, or my kids--ever showing any aggression what-so-ever.  Supposedly he bit the rescuer, so they put him down.  (Even though I said I would take him back if they had any problems).  Please help me get the word out to stay away from this organization!

Hello everyone!

I am currently fostering an Aussie for a friend who cannot keep him any longer.  He is one year old, neutered, and has had all shots.  He gets along well with other dogs when properly introduced and given time to adapt.  (He and my German Shepherd mix hated each other for the first 30 minutes).  He adores my children, is housebroken and crate trained.  She said he is pure-bred, but looks small to me for an Aussie.  He also has a tail...not sure if that's normal or not?  I've attached pictures and have a video on my page--please let me know if you are interested.  I'd love to keep him, but timing is just not right with Seanna's surgery.  He really is a great dog!

Oh what a cutie...hope he finds a great home!
Oh, you would put this up so the "crazy Aussie lady" finds its, lol!

What a handsome boy. No, tails are not normal for an Aussie, but it might be a unique "selling point" that will make someone fall in love with him! He does look a little small, but I don't think he would be a miniature. He may be, but I can't tell for sure, it's hard without seeing him in person.

I would list him on this site to start with. You might also get in touch with ARPH, they are THE Aussie rescue. Here is the Aussie rescue in your area. Any of these places are likely to at the very least do a courtesy listing for you. Good luck finding him a home. Let me know what happens with him!
I was kind of hoping you were going to fall in love with him! :-)

Thank you for the info, I will contact them today...

How is Sky doing? Seanna has her 6 week check-up next week, and is doing great! Still a little hobbly in the mornings and sometimes during the day, but they all say she's doing good.
I would love to have a dozen if I could, but I can't! Right now I have 3 (2 Aussies, 1 Corgi) and I am "camping" another Aussie to take her around and show her for my mentor this summer, so I have a full house right now, lol.

Sky is doing great. I can't tell he ever hurt himself anymore. I finally let him start playing with the other dogs outside a couple days ago, and he's loving that. Glad to hear Seanna is recovering nicely!
He is so cute. Hope you find an awesome home. I love dogs. Hugs.
STAAR is a national aussie rescue group that has an incredible network of aussie folks accross the US!
did he find a home?
I'm wondering if he found a home too! He's so gorgeous.
I am so sorry to hear that Jen :(
I'm so sorry to hear this! There was no way you could have known about this so don't blame yourself. I'm so sorry. Orion and Laika are sending lots of corgi love and kisses your way
