As a special treat for Sadie the vet told us we could add some: low fat cottage cheese, or low sodium chicken broth to her dinner/breakfast and mix it up. She absoultely loves both versions!!

When we first got Minnie, she was picky about food too. I guess I got about 4 differnt kinds of food of food for her. Now at 5 months she eats about everything. So I guess wait and see.

Ashley it seems odd to me, Barkley would probably eat anything you put in his bowl and after he is done will sometimes start chewing on the bowl itself! I believe the solution though is to make sure you feed on a schedule. After 15 minutes take the food away and don't offer it again until feeding time. It is unlikely that your dog will starve and will eventually learn that she needs to eat all her food at the appointed time.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get her to eat without me having to coax her into it? Does anyone know if this is just a puppy thing, and will soon pass when she grows older? I certainly hope so!

She was born March 5th, by the way! 14 weeks old now.

Barkley does the same thing, he looove sticks, wood chips, grass, anything he can chew up really.

Miso seems to be a very picky eater, but not as far as brand goes. We have a heck of a time trying to get her to eat. We have her on wellness. Her main difficulties come from eating out of the bowl! She gets distracted by our kitty, or by my husband walking by, and forgets to eat. When she does eat, it's usually after I hold the food out to her, she goes to eat it, and I drop it back into the bowl. I've found that she does a lot better when I put her food on a plate! Spoiled rotten little girl.

She also likes to eat grass and wood chips. It's very obnoxious, as she'll get so caught up trying to grab a stick or pull grass up, that she'll forget that she has to poo! It's very easy to distract her. If a car goes past, or a person walks past, she'll get distracted, too! Very frustrating puppy, some times.

I use "leave it" with limited success, especially if the item is something known to be forbidden (have taken it away before). We practice and practice..someday hopefully it will be natural, instead of running away.

I'm completely at a loss for how to stop the rabbit poop eating. I created a forum post for this about a week ago but I got more sympathy than solutions. Even our obediance trainer seemed to think the best solution was to make sure he is up to date on his shots. Next week we'll be practicing the leave it command hopefully that will help, but he is very obsessive about the rabbit poo eating and my yard is covered in it!

My guys have never tried rabbit poop and are not likely to. They will roll on bird droppings though (gross). Corgi puppies pretty much will eat anything that doesn't eat them first which gives us lots challenges keeping the wrong things out of their mouths. As they get older they seem to know a forbidden item is in their mouth and run from you if you try to get it out..frustrating as fast as they are. How do you all deal with this if it happens to you?
