You are not the only one looking! I am interested in an adult dog. Keep me posted. Thx, Craig

So, there aren't a lot of cardi breeders in the area. The two that I know of are very small-time breeders. However, if you prove yourself knowledgeable about the breed and a person who is seriously interested, either of them may be willing to refer you to other breeders who may have dogs.

Crystal (my blue merle) came from Hylane (http://www.rebeccalane.com/welshcorgis.htm) Crystal is a pup of Quincy. I know she has no puppies or adults herself yet but may be able to recommend another breeder if you impress her! I got her as an adult, 14 months old; Rebecca decided reluctantly to rehome her instead of breed/show her anymore as she was too small - she's only 22 lbs full grown. Hylane is in the central valley.

Frodo (my black brindle and white) came from Ffallian (http://cardigancorgis.homestead.com/ffallian.html). It says that they have puppies but I don't think the website has changed since I got Frodo in 2008! I did get him as a puppy. I'm not sure she's still breeding/showing but she also may be willing to refer you to other breeders/kennels. Ffallian is up near Ukiah.

Make sure when emailing them or other breeders that you explain exactly why you are looking for a cardigan welsh corgi, and demonstrate some knowledge of the breed. Indicating that you are interested in using them for performance-type activities - if true!! - will also make most breeders pleased, as they usually want to place their pet-quality pups or adults in the best of homes.

I know there are a couple of other breeders - one up somewhere around Sac, one around Grass Valley, and one way north up near the border of Oregon. A diligent web search may find them. One of them is http://www.serahkennels.com/index.htm, very nice people who I talked to but didn't have adults available back in 2008.

Hope this helps, msg me off this forum if you have more questions about what you should be looking for in terms of DM, CFA, OFA, etc. - many of this is similar to pembrokes so a search on what to ask pembroke breeders applies here.
