Hi, Andrea,

You can contact Wine County Corgis at www.winecountrycorgis.com for local breeders or meetups. However, if you are looking to breed, I very strongly suggest you join the corgi-l mailing list and talk to others about breeding. There are many very experienced people on there who can talk to you about the pros and cons of breeding, and help you to pick a stud (not necessarily just one who is 'close' to you but the best possible stud). Go here http://www.corgi-l.org/ join the mailing list, send off an intro, and talk to people there. If you aren't an experienced breeder, you will learn about the genetic diseases corgis can have, and what your dog and the stud should be tested for. You don't just want a 'stud in Santa Rosa', you want a stud that has been tested for DM, PRA clear, CERF good to excellent, has at least several generations of champions, etc. They can give you the best possible tips.

You can also join the sfcorgi list on yahoo groups, http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/sfcorgi/, although they aren't always very talkative, they know a lot of the breeders/owners in the area.

Also, what you are thinking about is the Corgi Faire in Dixon, in November. Some info is here: http://www.goldengatecorgis.org/ I went last year and it was quite fun!

I would highly suggest though that you at least get info and suggestions from people on corgi-l, as there are people with many many years of experience breeding and caring for both pemmies and cardis.

Good luck!

In live in Santa Rosa. Does anyone know of any connections to social groups or breeders around here? Thanks!

Also, has anyone heard of something called Corgi Fest in Dixon (or somewhere near Sacramento)? I heard about a festival there but cant find anything online about it.
Thanks for the help!! I appreciate it in advance.

oh they're tris .. couldn't tell from the pics, looked all black and white to me so I assumed cardis :) very cute! thanks for the info on the breeder, though! Actually I prefer my cardis ;) although pemmies are very cute too! I can't stand the thought of docking the tails though ... poor babies!

These are actually Welsh Corgi Tri-Color puppies since they are only a few days old they haven't had their tails docked yet. My Breeder is Kim from Poso Creek Puppies who is actually in Bakersfield and not Norcal. I live in San Jose which is why i joined this group =D We have a poso creek group if your interested in looking at several owners who have received puppies from Kim. Nice to meet you Patty =)

HOW ADORABLE!!!!! I'm not ready for a cardi pup, since I already have two adult cardis and they are plenty of work! :) who's the breeder/kennel, if you don't mind me asking? Good to know who is in the area, and I do know some of them...

Good luck!! :) Hopefully you'll be bringing a cardi pup to the meetups in 3 or 4 months when he or she has all his or her shots! :)

Hi, everyone! I just thought I'd go ahead and remind everyone that this Saturday will be the corgi meetup at Shoreline Dog Park in Mountain View (small dog side) at 10 a.m.! (We do meetups on the 3rd Saturday, and the 5th if there is one.) Hope to see you there!
