Waffle was born with cataracts and will be most likely be completely blind within 2 years.

What about multiple vitamins? Does anyone have any favorites?

Mozi gets green beans in her kibble and baby carrots for treats. She adores both! She will eat anything so "Leave it!" was one of the first commands she learned. I couldn't risk her scarfing down a dropped ingredient that wasn't safe for her before I could pick it up.

Sparty has arthritis but is 12 so that probably isn't unusual. I feed Izzy (tends to be a little heavy) 1/3 cup of a quality low calorie kibble twice a day and add about a half cup of green beans with dinner. Sparty is so active that when I put him on the low cal food he promptly lost weight so he get regular. The green bean diet (I use frozen) is a great way to keep the weight off.  Sparty just had a toe removed and it turned out to be a cancerous tumor. Fortunately it was a localized form of cancer and they got it all. He is beginning to regain his mobility with a skinny front foot, thankfully!

Hey all, I just found out that Mozi has degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) at only 4 years old. I've been online researching since we got the news yesterday but I really just need to hear from others who have corgis with similar issues. We started her on Dasuquin immediately and under our vet's instruction are gradually reducing her calories (replacing a small portion of kibble with veggies) to make up for the lighter impact exercise and to lose about 3 lbs that need to come off. I am thinking of also starting her on a multiple vitamin to make sure she is getting enough nutrients while dropping calories. Does anyone have ANY advice for us?

Hi there, both Holly & Amber like their vegies, pumpkin is their favourite, they also like carrots & peas.  Amber likes banana and begs for my apple cores.  Apples are also good for dieting doggies.  I also put a spoonful of yogurt into their dinner occasionally.  I have big allergy probs.  Amber found some cockroach baits in my store room under the stairs.  I was so worried when I'd found the door had been left open & seen she'd chewed them.  But she had no reaction at all!  I kept a close eye on her and gave her the boiled rice & chicken meal.  So looks like she has a stomach lined with lead!

Bryan and Tara, does he like carrots or green beans? Mine love them and they are good for the dieters. Carrots help clean their teeth and mine like frozen green beans.

Lucy is sometimes bratty with dogs on a walk. No rhyme or reason (that i can see!) for her instant dislike. We're taken to bringing kibble and saying to Lucy, "say hello to...." and we give her a kibble & the other dog, too, if it's ok with the owner. Sorry I can't be more of a help. I never watched Victoria's show but I hope to soon. Sounds like she has good advice. Also, this isn't a change in behavior. Lucy has always been picky about dogs––unlike Rafa who has yet to meet a dog, adult or child that he doesn't love.

Sparty has allergies requiring a shot once a month and the occasional bout of Prednisone. He also has a partial tear of his CL with arthritis. In addition, he has a damaged nail bed on one paw that results in a torn toe nail once or twice a year. He is my" Calamity Jane " dog! Misty is not a corgi but qualifies due to her 3 stomach surgeries. I recently switched her to a prescription bland diet and it eliminated her diarrhea completely and I am really happy about that! izzy fortunately is healthy.

New question - new entry: Has anyone had this problem? Sudden personality change. Bryan has always gotten along with virtually ANY dog. Played with them all -- no matter breed/size at the "puppy park." Lately he is like he has always been with people (loves women & kids, likes men). But now he's indifferent to smaller dogs and puppies (which he used to LOVE)... and he tries to attack larger dogs (even a Rottie), and most recently other corgis and dogs his own size. PLEASE SAY THIS IS A PHASE !!! I am trying (as of today) one of Victoria (?, on TV)'s techniques with giving him a small treat when other dogs come near. Obviously, because of his weight, I have to reduce his kibble so as not to make that problem worse. We sure could use some good ideas if any of you have any... Wendy? Anyone else? THANKS IN ADVANCE.
