You should let me know next time you plan on going, i'm sure my two little monsters would love to have a run in with another corgi :)
Yes, people should report all dangerous run-ins with Nature Dog to the Lake County Forest Preserve using THIS FORM. The owner Kyle is reckless, and his business is inherently unsafe to the other dogs and people trying to enjoy the park.
We love Prairie Wolf, though!
I'm sorry to hear of your run in with Nature Dog, i've heard some other run ins with Nature Dog at the park. I've taken my Pembroke and Cardigan there a bunch of times and they love the hiking paths and pond. With a horde of corgis, I don't think anyone would mess with our ankle biters
The Chicago dog beaches are fun, but are pretty crowded and unpredictable.
We love to go to Prairie Wolf, and even saw a nice little Pembroke there this weekend! Unfortunately, just moments later we had a horrifying incident at Prairie Wolf which you can read about here. In short, a Rottweiler in the care of the Nature Dog walking service came out of the woods and tried to kill our dog.
The good news about Prairie Wolf is that it is easy to find a little area that isn't too crowded with giant dogs. The bad news is that sometimes the park is still dangerous even when you do isolate yourself. Even despite this, I would still vote for Prairie Wolf.
There's an amazing 44 acre dog park about 30 to 40 minutes north of chicago if anyone is interested. I try and take my two furry low riders whenever i can: http://www.lcfpd.org/preserves/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.view&o...
Has anyone in Chicago explored the dog beach at Lawrence? I don't know how most Corgis are with water, but Stuart can't get enough of it (as long as it's not in bath form). Maybe we can do a small, Chicago area gathering there? It's usually pretty crowded on weekend afternoons, but maybe around or before noon wouldn't be so bad...
Haven't met many Corgi's, there is one in my subdivision that I see from time to time, think it's great to meet up and make new corgi friends.
I'd love to go to a meetup. Sundays are usually best for us.
I'm down for another meetup!
