Fandom is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of sympathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest... Members of a fandom associate with one another, often attending fan conventions (such as science fiction conventions), and publishing and exchanging fanzines... The term is sometimes associated with anime/manga; serious fans of this subject are also called otaku. A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream (Geek).

Comment by Mean Eyed Corgi on December 19, 2008 at 1:20pm: We named our female corgi "Luna" after Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. That's pretty nerdy :) My son named our male "Johnny" after Johnny Cash. Not so nerdy, but kinda fanboy-ish (we really like Johnny Cash, lol).

Comment by Matt & Hilliary on December 12, 2008 at 1:17pm: Our Corgi (when we pick him up in January) will be named Optimus after Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots! That's right, Transformers baby! We already got the tag for his collar with Optimus on it. Pretty exciting stuff for us!

When I was little, I dressed Courtney up as SuperCorgi. Sorry, no pictures. I know I a geek. I like to pretend I'm not in public, but the truth comes out at home.

So, who here has shared with their corgi or pet something geeky? For example, have you dressed them up as your favorite super hero (pictures please!) or taken them to a Con or Ren Faire. Maybe had them howl the theme song to Star Trek... Anything you think is nerdy. All stories welcome ;)
