How do I ever get over losing my best friend? I had to make the awful decision to send her over The Bridge on Oct 10 2011. Still to this day I cry over losing her. I do have a new puppy coming Feb…Continue

so sorry for the loss of your fur baby, the new ones fill a void but they can never replace a special one, but all Corgis are special ones!
Frodo was a beauty! So sorry for your loss but enjoy your new one :)
Sorry for your loss. 10 is so young. I know we will all see them one day!!
We lost our beloved Frodo in May. Still miss him terribly. He was only 10, and lost his battle with non-regenerative anemia for a year. Our new Cardigan baby boy, Gallifrey, can never replace him, but he has already carved his own place in our hearts. The house was just too quiet without a corgi! I'm sure you all understand!
Bev I also know how you feel. Getting all teared up right now. I still miss my Sweet Kazi after 3 years :(. I really do not think the sadness will ever fade from losing him so early in his life. Just know that we all are here for each other!
Like the others, I feel you. Not a day goes by that I don't miss our Langston. We love our current guy, Tate who's in the pix, but Langston had a huge personality. Not really a bad boy but he engaged everyone who met him, including other dogs! We lost him Oct 1, 2010 and I still tear up. It's hard for me to read the updates here because I revisit that day. Just know that your fellow Corgi lovers are right there with you in all of your emotions.
Bev, my heart goes out to you and your love for Sparty. I am scared, just thinkig about it. Labus will be 13 soon & he is healthy, but just seems so tired. He to used to be a "bad boy" in his younger years, oh boy did he ever!
Sending good thoughts your way!!
Oh Bev, my heart goes out to you all the time when I see RR behaving badly and remembering your words, several years ago, about how you missed Sparty's bad boy days. At the time, it was hard to believe, but I knew you were right. Sparty was a "bad boy" and oh how we love our bad boys. RR is still pretty baaad, but not like he was that first year. I take joy in how much he reminds me of Rookie, one of my Corgis remembered (before I heard about the rainbow bridge), who was a bad boy too. I just imagine Sparty and Rookie making mischief together, without the pain that they endured later in life. I'm so glad that you and your husband are enjoying Izzy and Misty so much. I've been remiss in checking on mycorgi these days. I tend only to get messages of new members and I think "how can there be so many Corgis?" I had RR and Lucy in NY this past month. They were terrific. Let's talk. You have my email address, right? I miss you and I miss Sparty. So, I look forward to stories of Izzy and Misty and YOU. I have a neighbor Corgi named Izze. So many Corgis...so little time. ;)
It has been a year now since we let Sparty go. I am afraid Labor Day weekend will always be that milestone for me. I still miss him so but Izzy and Misty have done their part in helping me through this past year. Whenever I read about the loss of someone's corgi it reminds me how much of a hole Sparty left. My husband commented the other day about how good Izzy and Misty are and what a pleasure it is to take them places. I know he is right but I will always miss my "bad boy" :)
