30 year old photo - Rookie, w. baby Lindsay

Rookie loved Lindsay and was always there protecting her. I can't imagine ever worrying about how Rookie would react to the birth of Lindsay, our first baby. I also can't imagine keeping them apart. Prior to our babies, Rookie was always with me. No matter how late I'd be up working, he'd be right there with his regal head on my foot. He was incensed when we came home with a new Corgi, Maggie. Maggie was 14 wks. and Rookie was 6 mo. He tried every which way to keep from entering a room. When she persevered, he pushed her into our pool. Eventually they became inseparable best friends. But, Maggie never was devoted to the babies like Rookie. Maybe Rookie just kept them to himself.

How do I ever get over losing my best friend? I had to make the awful decision to send her over The Bridge on Oct 10 2011. Still to this day I cry over losing her. I do have a new puppy coming Feb…Continue

I would not give back any second I had with my Kazi. He sure did know how to make me smile. I am sure that after my gieif ends someday that I will be able to once again smile at ALL the GREAT memories we have together'

I've owned Corgis for 40+ years and am trying to post their photos and "brief" stories about each of them. I've been reading comments by members and hope that this is a place for anyone to share their stories of loss and get solace. I have lost Corgis too young and too old. They are all part of our lives and losing them too young hurts like crazy, and losing them too old hurts like crazy. I'm just grateful to have had each of my Corgis every day of their lives.

Tuesday 5/11/2010 would have been Kazi's 5th birthday.. I know that tomorrow will be a very sad day for me. He ALWAYS made me smile. He was so lovable. My sweetheart had the best personality. He knew how to brighten my days when they were bad .I keep remembering all the funny things he did and how he made me smile so many times. I also feel cheated by how soon he was taken from me ! There are so many things I wanted to do with him . One thing I know for sure is that he knew I loved him so much. I would look in his eyes and say Momma loves my bo bos (pronounced bow bows) and by the way he looked back this may sound strange BUT I know he knew what I was saying :(

What a smiley pic nothing smiles like a corgi! ... I know it is tough. I lost my Otto at 6 1/2 and I so know what you mean... I still cry for him and it has been 3 years. I am like Bev, I never had to lose a furry friend so young. All my furry kids have lived 12-17yrs. So it was sooo hard. My heart goes out to you. Hugs and wet kisses from Gunner and Gracie

Kazi was way too young. I lost my Buffy at 6 and felt so cheated. I guess I have been spoiled having so many of my furry friends live a long time. He looks happy in this photo. I bet he gave you lots of great memories. Kazi is a great name! Everyone is so creative on here. I think corgis must attract creative people.

My sweetheart Kazi's birthday would have been tomorrow. He would have been 5. It has been 3 weeks today that I lost him and I still cry many times though out the day. I miss him so much :(

Jack and Wendy, How lucky you are to have had many corgis over the years. I am pretty new to them but of course am totally smitten.
