It sounds like you are busy Michelle but that is exciting about the new house! I can't wait to hear about it. The 20th would work best for me too. We probably should try to meet early because it is already so stinkin' warm out. Any input on time and place?? Last time we met at Danny Jackson on a Sunday it seemed really crowded.
i would if its the 20th!! :)
We are ready for a meet up! I can't believe it is already so hot!! Does anyone want to try to meet up next weekend on May 19th or 20th?? Please??? We are having corgi overload withdrawal!
WOW! I'm really glad I didn't go, then. What a disappointment. But I did meet a new Corgi owner out at Bill Archer Park and pointed her in the direction of the website. Hope to see Mary Ann and Toby again really soon!
So my husband and I went out to Paws on the Park on Saturday but I think we missed everyone. Ran into one corgi owner and talk to her for a bit. So maybe next event you guys hold I'll be able to head out and meet some of you then.
I agree the Paws in the Park event was a bit disappointing and just for us standing in the heat was a bit much. So ya not enough corgis too many pugs hahaha! That is my take on Paws in the Park. :P
I was very disappointed too. Usually all the vendors are under the Pavilion, along with the main stage and the dockdogs is off to the side. They thought it was going to rain so they moved dock dogs inside (why? so they get less wet? so stupid!) and moved the vendors outside and moved the mainstage... oh wait, they decided to nix the main stage. So there was no contests, no working dog demos, no rescue dog show. Very annoyed. My vet was annoyed too, they paid a lot of money for their booth and then they god moved out of the main pavilion without as much as a by your leave.
We were going to stay the day but only ended up staying 2 hours because there was no place to sit that wasn't roasting and the dogs were getting overheated. I couldn't take them under the pavilion because the speakers for DockDogs were so loud they scared the puppy.
Boo Paws in the Park
We went with Pudge to Paws in the Park for about 45 minutes total. It was quite the schlep to get to and they don't have a dog park at the park... it's vendors, some dock diving (which was neat to see), and some demos. But there's no shade. No fenced off area for the pups. It was disappointing for us. :( But they have adoptions and rescue groups there.
Paws in the Park is in Pearland at Independence Park Saturday and Sunday. http://www.pearlandparks.com/pawsinthepark.html They have vendors and booths set up. They also have a dock diving competition throughout the weekend and other demonstrations. I think there are look alike and costume contests too.
