I love having my two Corgis. They are wonderful. Leo is older and Randy is his younger brother (same parents, different litters). They are both close to me and to each other. It is hard to describe. They are best of friends but still each looks to me to lead and comfort. They are very loving towards each other and me. Our little pack is doing very well.

Yes, that is the one! Saw them show last year at NKC and also at a small show in Fremont.

You said Shannon is showing his Corgi? Is that the O'Dells from Griswald, Iowa? That is the breeder Jack came from, I will have to go and check it out!

Hefflinger Park is just west of 108th and Maple. Its pretty easy to get to, just take 680 to the Maple exit and go West, then turn onto Hefflinger road.

Where is Heffinger Park? I live about 40 miles west of Omaha, but come in regularly. Perhaps we could set up a first meet-up at Heffinger sometime soon. Just suggest a date and time. I would be happy to host a future meet-up at our acreage north of Wahoo.

There are several dog parks in Omaha, but the Hefflinger one is the only one that I would consider "West."

The only dog park I even know of in Omaha is the one at Hefflinger Park. I don't think there are any others at all.

At the moment, I only have the one Corgi and I'm really enjoying focusing on her right now. But I understand your desire to have two. I think your Corgi is at a good age to add a friend, she's out of the puppy mischief stage and calmed down a bit. Plus, from your profile it looks like you have a few people to share the love and responsibility with, which I think is a good thing. I think there are just as many advantages to having two dogs as one (they keep each other company, etc.) In the end, it really matters what your family wants and what will work best for you.

Are there any dog parks in West Omaha?

For us it is four Corgis! We have introduced both as puppies and adults. Our rescue Fern has found her way into the pack with no problems. It just took time. We have our share of small tussles (little fights) Corgis do like to be in charge! I did not make it our on Saturday...found myself a little lazy. The Nebraska Kennel Club is hosting their dog show July 10, 11 and 12. Shannon, a MyCorgi member from Iowa will be showing his Corgi and there have been other members that have Corgis in the agility classes. Shannon is going to forward the "Corgi Schedule" to me as soon as he has it. This is a great dog show, not just Corgis, but all breeds. I will be going to watcht some Agility and some of the Corgi Classes. Three Dog Bakery has an "Ice Cream Social" for dogs on July 19. Might be going to that. (Another fundraiser for the Nebraska Humane Society)
