Hello everybody! I'm Sherry and that's Merlin over there in the avatar. Earlier this year my husband (Jerry) and I created a small business that specializes in handcrafted wood items for furry and feathered friends. Our items include elevated dog and cat bowl holders, pet toy boxes, pet beds, and also other products for "outdoor" pets like birds and squirrels. Merlin is the CEO of our company, and we even named our company after him (Merlin's Bark Products). Our retail store is on Etsy (www.merlinsbarkproduct.etsy.com) and we also sell our products at craft & art shows.

I have been working in the field of public affairs/marketing/publications at a university for over 11-years now so I am pretty knowledgeable in those areas. Since the economy has been trucking downhill this year I haven't really invested in any kind of marketing campaign for Merlin's Bark Products yet. Merlin does have his own blog (www.merlinsbarkproducts.blogspot.com) where he barks about life as a CEO. I would like to start selling our products at dog shows and other doggy events next year. If anyone has any tips or ideas on how we can market our pet products at these events please feel free to share the info with me.

Hello everybody, and thanks for the invite.I'm Nichole. I live in Michigan, and work in the Medical Field. I am a Registered Radiology and CT Technologist. I work full-time as a designated CT Technologist within a hospital setting, and also moonlight occasionally doing both X-RAY and CT. My Corgi is Brody. He is a 9 week old Pembroke, and I love him so much! As sweet as he is, he is also so very smart, mischievous and busy... I've been spending a lot of time thinking up new games and "jobs" to keep him occupied - I certainly have my hands full with this little guy!

Hi everyone and thank you for the invite!
We live in Greenville, South Carolina, but we are originally from Pennsylvania. We have two children in college, which makes us "emptynesters", but our house is not empty! We have a sweet Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Jillie and a lab mix, Jack. We also have three cats, which were strays that we took in. We love our pet family and everyone lives in harmony....most of the time! Jillie is our first corgi and we just LOVE her...I want another!
I am a teacher of 21 years and director of a children's program. My husband is a national sales manager for an uniform company.

Thanks for the invitation! I live in Las Vegas, NV with my husband, family (2 of our 3 sons are still at home) and 2 adorable Pembroke Welsh corgis. Cosmo is 8, Cody 6. My husband and I have had corgis since 1982, though in past years we also adopted retired greyhounds from racetracks.

We are classic "small business owners", we have a small commercial/industrial property management service.

Thanks again, Karen

Greetings, I am a former wildlife biologist turned lobbyist. I work in the rural electric industry and lobby both in Nebraska and Washington DC. I continue to do rehabilitation work with Raptors (Eagles, hawks and owls) as a volunteer.

I know that the legisltive process can seem intimidating, but I believe in the power of grassroots and that each of us should use our voice as laws are made. I would be happy to provide assistance to anyone wanting to get more involved.

An incident three years ago motivated me to work to pass a law to prohibit trapping in the right-of-way. My best friend Basil ( five year old Corgi) was killed by a trap set int he rural road ditch near our home. Basil's law passed and it was my role as a citizen and not a lobbyist that did make a difference.

On the Corgi side of things I have four "low riders" and intend to begin breeding in about a year--pending positive results from medical and gentic testing of Brodie and Fergie. I am a firm believer in responsible breeding. Breeding for health, confirmation and temperament. I'm also a firm believer in Rescue.
