oh and as novice( relatively to pembrokes) I say before ya'all more experienced mentors slam me into reality LOL go have a look at Hank's mum and dads videos of the shows! and there are a ton!! I watched all the dogs carefully... not knowing who any of them are, and still found myself "picking" Hank... so maybe that says something about ( good or bad) the overall traits I seem to favor.. or gravitate to.. LOVEEE when people video shows... gives my brain more to work on work out . never stop learning!
Oh and think the "woodbine flashy alibi" is a dog I have seen a photo of... name sounds familiar, that I was instantly attracted to... and if I not mistaken, this is a flashy red/wht boy similar in headpiece as hank? form nebriowa stock?.. that may be the connection in my brain.. nebriowa and shaferhaus dogs.. .. over and over I seem to be attracted to a particular dog nd find.. lo and behold.. there are these lines in their pedigree.... see how my brain works..
with a little more research, maybe I will find out more about the coventry line, and why they seem so different ( current ones) to me.... far be it for me to "critique" I am simply trying to ascertain where /what is behind the dogs who inevitable attract my eye.. same as I was attracted to Spunks "type" and construction, and I like you purchased for a pet for my son, so didnt realize what was behind them specifically ...show names etc... or at least the names didnt mean much to me until I decided I liked how he matured and went backwards in pedigree to find out where these traits I like in him came from, and back to breeder for permission to keep him intact so I could show him... and that was a hard sell as they are not terribly interested in there dogs being dragged around showing as opposed to be home and spoiled.( and spayed or neutered). I wouldnt have gotten him if they werent getting older and less likely to keep back for breeding, for as far as they were concerned their parents and grandparents had done enough showing and being on the road, to prove their worth to him... LOL. Boy I was scrutinized to the max:) and he still thinks my head is full of tinsel, wanting to show the dogs:) although I am sure he will be proud of how he does..and he is loved at home as a pet too:)))) so another chapter....

ok candace , it sounds like a plan, but from the outside, looking in, just reading..hahaha looks like ..ok clean pack put house 1 for sale, move it all to new or temp between place, and dogs etc and you just ADDED and OH AND A WEDDING in there in between, as if all that wasnt enough LOLOLOL and then sell house 1 and go find a new house start all over again!! clean pack move etc from house 2 to house 3. LOL.. my mother used to say lovingly."gee stick a broom up my A@@ and I'll sweep the floor whilst I am at it " when she had a zillion things going and someone would throw one more request at her! But she always did it..!!LOL maybe type A personalities are genetic??LOL is there a dna test for us???? LOL
Just a hoot... I am sure it makes sense perfect sense , and is the best plan for you, just reading it is hilarious.. screams TYPE A personality.. never sit still!!LOL guess I am a bit like that! Oh and you know what? MARRY that man yesterday before he gets away cos like you said before there arent a whole lotta of em out there who would deal with people like us and or corgi addictionLOLOL and all that goes along with it:)))))
go have fun with pup at show! let us know how you do!

@ Mike and Debbi: havent done a lot of research on Bills coventry dogs, but even though they surely win a lot they just arent the "type" of corgi I like... ok people slam away:(
but I surely like Hank.( and I dont even know you guys , LOL)... he is the "whole corgi" I like to see for lack of a better way of putting what I mean... some of the coventry dogs I see at shows although no one disputes quality.. for sure, are I dont know.. Ill get in trouble here no doubt but, too short too square, demure in appearance to me, , faces too pale for my liking, and very very feminine muzzle , .oh I dont know.. I like a corgi who looks like he could go handle cattle? good thing I am not a judge hey??LOL
But its nice to know something I really like is winning GO HANK!! he is IMHO a really beautiful dog and also a tri! watched your videos and was mesmerized :)) he does like the showring:)
He reminds me of my boy except Spunk is a red/white, and a tad longer in body and wee bit higher on leg, but all in proportion for him and not out of standard... but the similarity in headpiece and sturdyness , structure, maybe the "boy look" is what has inspired me to try to continue these traits I see in mine ( and what I like in your boy) forward to another generation, remains to be seen if I can choose and moderate traits well enough to accomplish this... I am not seeing a lot of dogs in the ring( at least where I am showing) that seem to represent this "type" or "style" so it is especially nice to see HANK succeed as he is a very lovely boy:)))) as I so like this "type and construction" in a pem.
Wish we saw more like him around these parts... but as I said, not a comment about anyone elses dogs, , I know a few have run into who have dogs I love too... not that my oppinion matters LOL for me asking about his breeding was simply to educate myself as to where some of the qualities I seem to gravitate towards come from... trust me I have asked this and more of others HAHAHAHA and the best joke is I HATE TO TYPE LOLOL
( dont go there, CandaceLOLOL)
and Candace. if it would be a relaxing break from all the chaos lately GO!! Take the dog and GO SHOW!!! You surely deserve the time off to go do something you love! More ring time the better for the dogs I say! who knows what they'll do at that age LOL
anyway thanks for the info! Wish you were closer but doubt I will travel to CA for a show:) so we will just root for hank from afar!

I will actually be closer to the Joplin, MO show than any of them, but will be in close proximity to others. I am teatering on whether to go to the Joplin show Nov. 6-7 and mingle with the kennel club members. Maybe take a dog? Not sure yet. Wilson could sure use the experience, he'd still be in the 9-12 class too.

Shelley: Hank, Ch. Pennyshire Solid Alibi is out of Ch. Woodbine Flashy Alibi (Elizabeth Sessions, Portland, OR) and Ch. Penny Glyn's Minnie (Maureen Wilkinson, Apple Valley, CA). Minnie just recently had a litter and Dash (Flashy Alibi) was at the National last month. Both of them look great. Dash carries a real strong line. Many dogs in Southern California from him, especially from Bill Shelton's Coventry Corgis.

We got Hank in February, first showed him in May and finished him in October. We just wanted a pet when we contacted Maureen. She had Hank who didn't fit into her long-term breeding plan so she decided to let him go. We lucked out.
