exciting times.. excerpt posted on show pem this morning..... from the nationals..!!!!..
This team made a breeder's dream come true. I arrived at our Team (formerly the Village) setup on Saturday morning. As Melody was grooming Shooter she looked at me and asked what was wrong. I told her that after a sleepless night, I'd decided not to show Joy in breed. I had never handed her off and didn't think she would show for anyone else. I didn't think I could get her groomed and in the ring, etc., etc. With that, Melody and Bobbe insist that she be brought down and we, the Team, would get her done up & in the ring. Not to worry. So with someone running up to get Joy, someone else running to get Melody some show clothes, we got Joy in the ring for the initial arm band check. Joy, of course, made a liar out of me and showed beautifully for Melody, completely ignoring me. So I showed Shooter through the dog cuts and then went in on Joy for the first round of bitches. I was thrilled when she made the cut. Then we went in for the bitch finals, we made
the cut again! Now what to do?! SO I decided to stay on Shooter and asked Melody to take Joy. The rest is history: Ch. Kestrel Leftbank Rejoice, Best of Breed at the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America and Creekside Hard Workin' Man (still needs a single point to finish), Best of Winners! My point is that we did this as a Team. NONE of this would have been possible if we had not worked together for the good of the Team, often with little personal gain. These people are absolutely AMAZING! Thank you from the depths of my being.

Joy is the product of another team coming together for the good of all. Her co-breeders are Lynne Wolfe and Vicki Sandage with Lynne and I being her co-owners. Mary DeToma & I left the Rhode Island National 3 years ago to meet Lynne with Becky for a c-section with Mary assisting in the operating room. Lynne raised the puppies until 10 weeks of age with the other bitch from this litter living with her. Team work...

I was thrilled that all of the judges that had given Joy her points were there on Saturday! They are: Andy Carter, Peggy Kessler, Dianne Connolly, Anne Bowes, Sandy Wolfskill & Janet Robinson (to finish) and Leif-Herman Wilberg who gave her RWB at Mayflower.

I also want to thank all of you that showed your support ringside and afterwards with heartfelt congratulations. I am so touched by the sincerity offered to us.

So you can see where we came up with the Village theme...now the DREAM TEAM! Thank you.... You made a dream of a lifetime come true. Love you!
Ann

Adjuster to be here in 15 mins but after he's done, it's back to work on the yard and cleaning house. Taking a coffee/internet break until he gets here.

Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club this weekend: Hank went Best of Breed and then went on to place Fourth in the Herding Group... what a thrill! (Had a good chance with so many So Cal Corgis at the National). It's been a mild Summer, but this weekend was over 100 degrees and humid. Dogs did better than most of us in the heat.

Only ONE point left! Maybe next weekend at the Burbank Kennel Club... it would be cool, Burbank KC gives a special ribbon for dogs who finish at their show.

I have my first official house looky loo coming on Thursday. Crossing fingers they make an offer I can't refuse. Of course that doesn't mean it will sell but it sounds promising. The place is quite marketable since it is reasonable acerage and a "modest" home, sufficient but not so fancy it's out of your average joe's budget. 10 acres w/ 9 clear and the wooded acre adjoins a larger portion that funnels deer to the property like bee's to honey, barn, 2 car detached garage, 2 concrete floor storage buildings. 1300 sq. ft. 3 bedroom house. Big enough to run a couple horses or calves and small enough a family can maintain it on their own quite easily. All on a beautiful park like setting. But, i do have a lot of house cleaning and yard spiffying to do before Thursday. Waiting for the insurance adjuster to look at the roof after the last storm blew off some shingles, just handy right before trying to sell it. Had a roofer look at it and said it needs new shingles but the decking was in good shape. Don't know if insurance will give me anything or not but would be nice..........................If the promising couple on Thursday make a decent offer, organized chaos begins.
