Cindy, I know Abbs is the star mama right now, but howz pete? and Russ??
Cant wait till the pups are big enough so we can "bet" on which ones you will choose to keep:) LOL It has just got to be hard to choose between them when they are so cute and SO MANY !!HAHAHAHA I suppose their differences will become more apparent once they are older.... still.. I expect even with the best of plans and observation, it has got to be hard..when it comes right down to it....

funny all this talk about nails... hahaha Spunky is the hardest cos I nipped his and hurt him once:( so have to muzzle him now.. then brought him to groomer friend who shows ( poms) and she cut him back to the proper show length so he hates her not me, and now will let me dremel them.. Just this last couple weeks been workin on Mika and Missy's almost daily to get the quick to recede.. they seem to grow like wildfire in the summer especially when we swim so much.. and nipped one of Mikas into the quick , she didnt wince but bled:( and of course no quik stop so dunk her paw in flour ! She can get a bit testy but Missy lays there and cooperates well.. They hop up on the bed with me and I lay them in my lap while we all watch tv LOL.. Nightly passtime around here! Hate black nails!!! Monk's are all white so he is easy!

We have a great system when we start out with Alec holding and I trim. Never had an issue yet. By the time they are about 3-4 mos old, I can grab them as they run past, sit on the floor, flip them over inbetween my legs and dremel away.

Abbey, when living with her other mother, is always a pain to do. At my house, she's up on the table, Alec holds her head so she doesn't try to lay down on me and I have no issues.

The brussel griffon that we have-he's a black rough, scared of his own shadow, loves to have his nails done. If he's in the house when I do other dogs, he gets in line and I end up doing his 3-4 times. Clairee the rough collie is the same way. Lays down beside me and waits her turn. Moose seems to think that if I do his, that means dog show and he's impossible to live with for a few days.

And yes I do have a few misfits that aren't cardigans. We work with a handler who shows poms and raises griffs. Ace was a present to my son on his 18th birthday for all the help over the years. The pom is from one of his clients who thinks all little girls need a pom. And our other griff is a black and tan smooth who is retired from showing and living out his life at our house and pestering the blue dogs.

gee, wish i could have been there for all that fun-weather or not. glad the babies are doing great. i love doing nails at that age, they don't know enough to show their teeth and growl at you for actually having the audacity to touch their feet. i started doing jacks nails when he was still hand size and that didn't help. it's still a fight. i usually get sandy to do his nails when we go for a visit. oh, that's coming up. joker on the other hand is pretty darn cool about getting his nails done. what a difference between dad and son. take care

No photos yet, but we did trim toenails last night. I hate doing it at this age, they squirm all over the place. Eyes are getting ready to open and I know some of their ears are open. They get all worked up when they hear some voices or particular dogs bark. They actually look like cardigan puppies now!

Let's show stuff:
Rained during set up on Thursday but wasn't the 7 inches we had last year, just a couple and with the wind, it dried off before the show started on Friday.

Friday was awesome(didn't stay for BIS so no idea). Saturday was awesome-Frank Murphy and his GWP went BIS. Fun Match in the afternoon and Alec judged herding and juniors. That gets him some requirements for his judges license down the road.
Sunday--awesome. Amana Beagle Classic and supported entry in Whippets. The WB out of the Whippet entry, took BOB and then went on to BIS. Boy was that one nice little whippet. Elegant, put together and movement-oh to die for.

Monday--okay that's where things started to fall apart. Got a call on my drive down to the show that the south side of our ring tent had snapped poles and was down. EEEKKKK!!!
So call the tent people--it's Labor Day ya know. In the meantime we have to rearrange the rings and then a small but very strong thunderstorm blows through. Lightening and we have judges that in their neck of the woods, that doesn't happen. So call the show to halt outside for 1/2 hour to let it pass. Rearrange rings, again because our ezup was trashed during the storm. Now 40 mph winds. Ribbons, armbands and dogs all over the place.

And that folks, is why show chairs have heartattacks and strokes at a higher rate then normal(heehee) dog show people. No, really, it's stress full but it could have been so much worse. No dogs or people hurt and everyone was pretty good with it all.

Noble's pomeranian went BIS on Monday. Cute, cute little dog, wish my own looked that nice. I have an 8 yr old retired show pom, or should I say the Ms has one and both of us take turns in grooming them.

It was a great weekend over all. Met Pat Hastings and she's a doll-love her. Met up with a few handlers that I know of but finally got a chance to really talk with them. Cool people when you get to know them.

Okay, back to work--I'm sooo far behind.
