Nope, we won't be at the IC shows. Though I was planning going for obedience-have one dude who needs a leg for his CD, decided to just skip the show. In part because of Brian-I've given him 3 tries and well, just can't do anything under him. I suggest that you wear a nice tight outfit that shows off your attributes-hint hint. He does like his ladies in the ring.
Yeap, saw the Hartingers are up in MI but unfortunately that's the weekend of our club cluster show and well, being cluster chair, I really should be present :)

Which leads me to an invite!!! Five Season's Cluster Dog Show. Labor Day weekend-Friday-Monday, Sept 3-6th. Amana, IA. Fun Match-Saturday night. Steak Fry-Saturday night. Eye Clinic with Dr Betts-Saturday. Novelty groups-Sat-Best Bred by, Sun-best puppy, Monday-best veteran. Supported entries in beagles, whippets, belgians. Plus much much more. At the wonderful Amana RV Park and Events Center-indoor and outdoor show, campgrounds and the wonderful Amana Colonies-National Historic Landmark and way good food!
Hope you can all come---if you have any questions, the super is Onofrio or just drop me a line.

Hi-been on this group forever but never get a chance to post. Noticed a few of you have judges listed and more then happy to give you a few comments on them.
Hartingers--likes a well behaved dog, not necessarily big but a moderate example of the breed and both love a good moving, free striding dog. Finished several dogs under them both and had several group placings.
Lee Brown-finished our first cardigan under him umpteen years ago. Likes a moderate dog, some substance, pretty headpieces.
Brian Meyers-can't pay me to show under him. Have never figured out what he likes in a dog-consistency is not his specialty. Has a penition for blues. And yes, I have won under him but no idea why as the dogs he pointed at were all different types and styles. But I can say that he does like women handlers-and I won't go into further details then that, if you get my drift. He does tend to have favorites. Go back and look at his past assignments and if you see certain dogs consistently getting the wins, then if they show up, just figure he goes with what recognizes.

I'll pester my son and see what he has to say about the others. He professional handles a lot of different breeds so runs into a lot of judges that I don't.

And one last comment--Vicky is correct, if you can determine that a judge has a style that well, just your dog, just go and enter the one day. No need to "donate" funds to the club if you know that you won't get anything out of it.

shelley, don't fret. something will come up. it stands to reason, that some of us have to do some traveling to get to where the fun people are. i'm one of those. even though i'm in green bay, for most of the decent shows, i have to travel. even the club in green bay doesn't have their shows here anymore. we also use to have a real nice cluster about 45 minutes from here, but the clubs couldn't get along and they fell apart. i don't mind the travel part. i don't do any showing in winter, though. hot, hot summer is also very questionable. can't stand it. don't believe in making the hounds suffer. the judging line-up would have to be so good to get me out.
