Vicki, don't be impatient - told you we were doing a companion show this Sunday. Up at 7am and out putting direction notices around the racecourse. Then build the ring from 10:30 onwards.

The weather started bright but before I had finish the ring I had a light drizzle hampering my work. Finally finished I walked home getting wet.

The afternoon went better than expected and we had up to 20 entries in the pedigree classes. We had 4 pedigree classes then on to the novelty which included child handler.

It looks at this stage that we will have made around £275, It could have been better, because at the 17th class the drizzle started again and we lost some of the people - mostly those who came for the pedigree classes and were chating amongst themselves.

Posted pics in my pics of the show - enjoy.

Won't know till this weekend on Walt--the guy is coming all the way from Chicago to meet us at the show to meet the dogs.  Loves the fact that there will be siblings there as well as mom and dad!

Collie-growing hair.  Just entered one day over Memorial Day in MN and then I think I'm supposed to enter him in an IL show(of course the kid goes to a show when puppies are due!) then Purina, then Hawkeye, then then then...eek!

Damn computer!  And I will add, that yes, three of the dogs entered at this weekends shows are 3 of the Dirty Dozen.  One is a filler-yeap, I'll admit.  I rarely if ever will do that.  But knowing that a few of the dogs out there showing could not show at this show, I offered to help out to make sure it was a little more then a major should a few other dogs get those last couple of points and either not come or move up.

I'm dreading the boys competing against each other, hate it.  Did that once before on a dog I no longer own and well, rather get my wins the well earned way.

Stephen,  thats is a long way to travel... entries are low here to, making majors pretty  hard to find...  and  one doesnt know until after submitting entries what the numbers will be:(   I think part of it may be the exhorbitant gas prices... here too....

so sorry to hear the story  about the young dog... maybe  when they are ready for another dog..... :)

keep  news coming:)  enjoying following your dogs shows:)

cindy- walt and charlie were just havin' fun. they are so cute. as far as siblings in the ring together, it happens, years ago i was showing a standard long-hair doxie and at a lot of the show's his litter brother was our competion. we basically took turns winning, every other show. it was fun. long run though, we did much better than the brother. the one i showed ended up with his CH. and i don't think the brother ever did. it's kind of fun when you have related dogs in the same ring, because they can be so much alike or so much different. we had to do the "family" thing to finish joker and jinx's grand in UKC. we had dad, jack, and the 2 boys and 1 other puppy male entered. and jack already had his grand. that was at the davenport shows we saw you at. we had to do it that way because there wasn't anywhere within distance that the had entry to accomplish this. some times  there's no other option. and joker finished his grand at the first show and i couldn't move him up or there wouldn't have been enough for jinx to finish. even put joker in with a total stranger hoping he would show like a dork so he wouldn't win. of course he showed like a trooper for this gentleman but jinx pulled it out and that finished him.  my friend back in utah has schipperkees and she usually builds her own majors because there really isn't any other competion. we also tried the "enter the dog that should not win" talk about back-firing- this dog's front looked like electric beater's on the high setting and the rear wasn't much better, but she needed a "filler" dog. beautiful major entry. i was showing the male that we had planned on winning the major-NOT!!!!! the judge gave it to the "filler" dog. we all almost died. even the gal that was showing this dog. she knew why he was entered. goes to show ya- you just don't know what's going to happen. i know there were a couple of yours at jefferson. are they that similar or that different. with as hard as it is to find majors now a days, i don't care if the entry is made up from a whole litter. they are in there for the same reason. good luck to walt in his new home. it's sad when they don't turn out like you were hoping too, but at least you know he will be going to a loving and caring home.

stephen, that is such a sad story. did she say where she had gotten the dog? i'm glad to hear that she connected up with you such a young dog to pass like that. i'm beginning to think people are starting to concetrate too much on certain problems and other problems are being ignored. makes you wonder why a 15 month old puppy would have a  heart attack. my heart goes out to her. and. saturday, our gas was at $3.98 a gallon. well, today it was back up to $4.07. and, they just had it on the new's oil price's dropped $10.00 a barrel. oh well, anything to screw the public.
