ok------------ does anyone know anything about a Mr.WJ Sommerfelt and a Mr.PA Thomann. looking down the road at some shows and i know i have seen sommerfelt's name before but not the other. any info would be great. i also have never shown to either one of these gentlemen. well, it's getting late so i am off to sleepy land. all this fresh country air really gets to a person. night all and take care

i don't know. i'm beginning to think with the way the gas prices are going, clusters might be the way to go, unless the show is in your back yard. i know i am going to be a lot more picky about judges. will probably be hitting more division 5 shows- smaller number required for majors when the points change. and yes, the entries were just a hair over 400. a few more on sunday. heck, in the first group, there were only 6 breeds. i think there were like 8 breeds in herding. it was really pathetic. but, i picked the best in show winner on saturday. bulldog with stan flowers attatched to her. she was such a lovely bitch. reminded me of the one i showed when i was out west. almost brought a tear to my eye. we didn't stay for group on sunday. too much for me from the first day. haven't shown in years- sandy figured it's been at least 6 years. i went in the ring 3 times on saturday. twice with jioker and once helping sandy. my hips and back were not happy with me. i did a lot of walking that day and we showed on cement, so that added to the pain. but, i really had fun and it felt good to be back in the ring. but, i also know i over did it. been hiking all over at sandy's vivisting the hounds and spending a lot of fresh air outside time with the boys. jack is having way too much fun having all this room to run around. and what is alex's "new toy". oh, btw, there were some beautiful collies there this weekend. was very impressed. take care

It is one of my favorite show sites, though last year a horrible storm came through and we lost power during the groups.  It's also been hot and muggy, but that's more the time of the year.

It's a shame though, with entries what they were this year, I doubt that it might last much longer.  I think it was only like 450 or so entries.  Being a show chair myself, the economics of putting on a show will give you nightmares.  You have a specific entry target and if you can't get it, well, you then figure how many years you can run in the red.

Hope everyone has fun this next weekend.  We have lots of other things planned-4-H poultry meeting, set up for the UKC show and an extra surprise as Alec gets to play with his new toy one day at the UKC show :)

oh dear----- i mean angel. fingers aren't working today. it's monday and am still recouping from the weekend......... cindy- windy when we left out on saturday and it stayed with us to marshalltown, but very nice day otherwise. no wind leaving out sunday, but found some in marshalltown. the shows were small, but the people were very nice. sunday was a wee bit chilly, though. francine kept her coat on while judging. keep her hands in her pockets also unless she was going over a dog. when we went to get jokers pic, i told her to just leave her coat on. she smiled and said no, it was alright for a minute. thinking about doing this show again next year, very relaxed atmosphere and the site wasn't bad. easy to get to. take care

give angle a big hug from us and a very big Congrats on your BOB.we have a shortage of entries in pemmies, seems like more so that the cardies. we have shows coming up that are majors in cardies and really nothing in pemmies. have to travel and with our gas prices going higher weekly, it's going to hurt a lot. just found out price of gas went up to $4.07 back home in green bay. will be planning shows very carefully. might just put the boy out with a handler. would be easier on the pocket book. you all take care and keep us informed on any showing
