hahaha thats what its looked like here since early December... Hmm feel better knowing I am not the only one, but jealous cos y'all will most likely lose it faster:( HAHAHAHAHAH
in other news, Chip had his frst playday with friends in open snowfields( actually lrge area fenced all around) yesterday, and mom forgot camera :( hilarious following the big dogs thru the deep snow ( who needs a trail) .. had a blast and crashed for most of the rest of the afternoon!!!
NEXT TIME WE PLAN SUCH A PLAY DAY MOM WILL BRING CAMERA!! and dress warmer:(
Just uploading photos to the blog. 4' glaciers in the front yard. Dogs refuse to come in. Hubby and the Ms are tunneling us to civilzation. Can't let the dogs out in the front yard as they can now walk over the 5' fences and 6' gate.
Oh joy--when is spring again? No wait, skip to summer, all this darn snow means mud!
Just a quick weather report from West-Central Illinois where the snow falls and the wind blows. The National Guard has been sent to patrol the area and rescue stranded motorists when they find them and to monitor road conditions. My Brother Tom lives on the main road, and says there is a wall of snow in front of his house that 2 snowplows hit and could not budge. They turned around and went back to town after being pulled out. I have an 8 foot tall drift in front of the kennel doorway, and drifts as tall as the car in the driveway. Fence posts that I can see are barely sticking out of the snow and the dog yard is completely buried. It is snowing again--great big flakes this time--but bright and visibility has returned at this point. My dogs looked at me like I was crazy this morning when I opened the door to let them out. It took great encouragement to get them to go beyond the porch. :) Reportedly, we got 17 plus inches of snow but the previous snows were all melted so it is not as bad as it could be really. All my family and canine family are safe and warm so it is a movie and scrapbooking day here for me. Hoping to get plowed out in time to go to work tomorrow where things will be totally crazy. We will have truckloads of corn to send out that are not even built yet. I forsee working the weekend for sure. I am so happy to hear the groundhog reports!!!!!!!!
Hope you are all safe and warm where you are.
Sandy
6-12 or more inches today, depending on where you are in the storm path. Blizzard warning goes into effect at noon through 9pm tomorrow-or something like that. Schools all closing early. I might be leaving work early as the 2 ft drift at the top of the drive was interesting this morning.
I live out in the middle of the county, very very open, farm fields, very little in the way of windbreaks. About 1 1/2 miles from the highway and then it's another 10-12 miles into town. We get buried a lot in storms like this.
Congratulations on the GRCH!!!! I'm itching for Russ to get his. Unfortunately his co-owner and keeper broke her wrist late summer last year and Russ had an extended vacation from showing. He's got all his necessary wins, just needs 10 singles to finish.
Congrats again and please, send sun, warmth and grass our way!
