Upcoming shows-March-West Allis, Columbia, MO, Dubuque, IA and Dewitt(ClintonKC), IA.

April-Waterloo, IA, Marshalltown, IA, Seward NE

May-Rock Island, IL, LeMars, IA, Bloomington, IL, Key City MN.

 

In all honesty, the judging panels this spring are not that impressive.  A few judges-well, you need to be their "friend" in order to do anything, others have no clue on what the standards are in corgis and others are super inconsistent.  We are attending a lot of shows this spring with Alec's client dog, a boxer, but as far as our cardigan entries, doubtful we'll do conformation, but more likely do more obedience and rally this spring.  Plus I've got some other plans in the works that might require me to stay at home more :)

marshalltown is the last saturdayof april and the first of may. i can't say i am overly impressed with shreves. he pulled a REAL big STINKY once when i was showing the collie to him.  and jean fournier is an absolute sweetheart. would show to her anyday.  later

@Vicky: Dekalb is APRIL 9-10 judges are robert Shrieves and jean Fornier

 Believe Cindy and crew are going, I spoke to teresa and maybe Andria, will chastise Sandy as well to go bring a few of her pems... a mess of other cardi people... and  maybe few pems... who I dont know so  lets all show up!

ashley- there are dog shows in alaska. not quite sure where, but i know bonnie ames-amsburg corgis has shown there a lot. shows are small, but you also don't need a lot for major points. no matter what-stay in touch with us. and, it's still 60 days, so don't give up on us yet. take care.  cindy- marshalltown, yes, looked at judges. is also a small show. i remember bev capstick from years ago and have alsways liked her. francie schwartz- i showed to her a few times in utah when i lived out there. i vowed i would never,ever show under her again because she always picked the worst. the one year, she gave me a first out of two and then for breed she, well, i won't say what she gave breed to, just when it came to group, we corgi people walked away in embarrassment. but, she gave best of winners to the collie i was handling, so i thought maybe i would give her another chance. BUT-OK- here's the real reason i want to go to marshalltown-------- there is a restaurant there that is known for their loose-meat sandwiches. i have never had one, but  i saw this restaurant on one of those food shows, then on roseanne- her sister was driving truck and brought some back from iowa and then i saw there was a dog show weekend there----- it's meant to be!!!!! i believe in karma! hey, you have to take all you can. have a great day. is this the judge you were talking about. if you'd rather not say much on here, e-mail me at corgi97@aol.com. do you know anything about marjarie tuff, Proffessor douglas taylor or mrs.danielle brown? these judges are coming up and they are not familar to me at all. take care and stay warm. we are listening to tomorrow's weather, i am cancelling the whoke day. thank god i don't have to go out again until tuesday. young dog going out on flexi-lead. we are talking below zero weather. too flippin' cold for man, woman or beast.

Marshalltown-have you seen the judges?  Um, won't waste my money on those.  Unless you belong to a specific club, the one judges won't even look at you.

Alec won't be home anyway, showing a dog at the Boxer National Specialty, but it's an awesome place to do obedience and rally!

Phew. Wow, that IS a lot of information. We just received word that we will be restationing to Alaska in 60 days. So I HOPE there are clubs and show in Alaska for my Corri. 

 

I will most definitely look at the videos and take notes as well as visiting some shows here in the Houston area before we leave. 

 

I appreciate ya'lls advice and nudges.

andrea or teresa---- are you guys planning on de witt? i think sandy said something about it. i'm doing some thinking and have an idea, but i need to run it past sandy first. also, are you doing marshalltown and rock island??? i'm trying to see if there is anything in between those two cause i'll be camping out at sandy's for them. i don't care if it AKC or UKC. so, i guess i'll go on a mission and see if i can find anything in the sandy's house area. i'm not planning anything until then. so west allis is out for me. just don't trust the weather enough to enter and maybe not be able to go. so, nothing until april. take care and stay warm
