What we did was take basic AKC classes and after that Sage tested and was qualified to get her CGC. We then checked out a couple different groups and went with Therapy Dog Inc.
I have not visited for awhile! Winston is now 20 months old .. a wonderful disposition and we are doing Agility training. AT what age have you begun using your Corgi for therapy? He is a pretty calm boy, but was wondering.
Hello all. I have a six month old Corgi, Winston and aim to have him be a therapy dog in my special ed classroom. I am on my third Great Pyrenees therapy dog there now (I now... BIG difference in breed). Pyrs are so low key and this is my first Corgi. He is a very busy young guy, but already very sweet and affectionate.
Sage is my certified therapy dog but Wynn is the one I trust to let me "know" when some of the people I work with are having mental health issues...he picks up on this right away. Corgis are the best for being great Therapy Dogs:)
LAYLA and I visit health care facilities, along with elementary schools. She patiently "listens" to and supports students with literacy challenges.
Also, she's my Psychiatric Service Dog. I'm Bipolar and trained her (by role-playing) to alert me when I'm "going over the edge". FYI, I've documentation from my Therapist and a leading Vet School Animal Behaviorist.
Hi Sage,
Being a therapy dog has been wonderful for my self esteem. My mom had initial doubts about it because I'm so hyper and can't sit still even if I'm an old girl (11 yrs old). But when I'm visiting, I now what to do and how to behave. Glad you are enjoying it.

Hello,
My name is Sadie and I have been a therapy dog for 4 years and I really enjoy it. We visit the library, hospice patients and St. Mary's. Being a therapy dog has really changed my life. I now have a purpose and a mission!!!
Sadie (and Monica is my driver :)
