Fidencia,

He is beautiful!  I am going to put out a message with the phone number on the Corgi-L weblist, affiliated with Corgi-Aid rescue.  There may be someone in PR involved in rescue.

They just leave, abandon, this beauty right in the vet clinic, he is 2 years old, pure breed tricolor. He looks sad, and kind of flaquito ( skinny) when I compare this picture to my Junos! I know the clinic is in Puerto Rico, and here the Corgis are not well known, people dont know about the glorious characteristics of them. My apartment is so tiny, that I can even dream of having another dog. I will leave the contact number here (787) 768-5800. He is not fix, and is describe as a good character, great heart hunny.

I personally use the anti-itch because Laika has a corn allergy and if she has anything with corn her skin gets red and itchy and it happened to help with their dry skin too, Orion's paw pads used to feel like sandpaper. But since the dermatologic is specifically for dry skin it'll probably be more helpful for dandruff. Also, when I use it I put the shampoo on all lathered up and let it sit there for about five minutes, then rinse, then put the conditioner on and let it sit for five minutes, then rinse and blow dry them. When I rush and don't let the conditioner sit and soak before rinsing it off it seems like their paws are a little dryer.

Oh! And if you're getting a Furminator I think amazon is the cheapest place I've seen it other than Home Goods. If you have a Home Goods in your area I'd check there, they don't always have furminators but when they do they're a really low price (sometimes they have really good deals on dog foods too)

Thanks Monica!  I think I'll buy the furminator.  As far as the shampoo.  Do you buy the shampoo and conditioner of that brand?  You buy the anti itch one and not the dermatologic one?

Hey Debbi!

I use the furminator on Orion and Laika maybe about once a week, depending on how much they seem to be shedding, sometimes they're shedding a lot and sometimes not much. Also they have different coats so you may just see what works. I find that the regular brushes I have for my cats don't really work at all and they still shed all over the house but the furminator works wonders! I'd start brushing pretty early so they can get used to it, just start off with a little bit at a time and if they take issue with it maybe give them a treat while brushing so they associate it with something good. As for shampoo, I have a shampoo/conditioner set  by "Vet's Remedy" that is also anti-itch. Since there is both a shampoo and conditioner, it seems to help keep their skin from getting dry and they don't have a dandruff problem

Hey Corgi owners-what brush do you like for your Corgi?  How often do you brush them and should we start that already?  Also, do you have a tip for keeping your corgi from getting dandruff after washing with puppy shampoo?
