Fandom is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of sympathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest... Members of a fandom associate with one another, often attending fan conventions (such as science fiction conventions), and publishing and exchanging fanzines... The term is sometimes associated with anime/manga; serious fans of this subject are also called otaku. A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream (Geek).

OMG!!! Everyone who plays WoW needs to get themselves into the cave where the holiday daily is taking place. Under the tree to the left of the train set is what looks to be a wind-up corgi toy!!! It looks around and wags it's little nubbin! Go now!! So cute!! Must have!!!

That looks like a corgi costume to me, that's for sure.

The group has been very quiet lately (Skyrim/CoD perhaps?) so I will post an update. We adopted a three legged kitten who we named Jet Black. Since he made instant BFF with Ashton it seems appropriate to name him Jet. Now I just need a Faye, Spike and Ed to complete the Bebop crew.

We are also waiting for the birth of our next corgi! Hopefully we will get a little girl. We have decided on naming her Pinoko or Pino for short. Pinoko is a character in Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka and Pino is a character in Ergo Proxy. Yes, we are uber otaku nerds. Both characters are cute, stubborn, faithful, loving and pretty much everything you would expect a little corgi girl to be. Plus, check this out:

I know some people say Pino in Ergo Proxy is wearing a pink bunny outfit, but to me it looks like a corgi! Notice, there isn't a typical fluffy round bunny tail and the ears are not long and oval shaped. The bottom looks very corgi like to me and the triangle ears are much more corgi than bunny. So cute!

If things don't work out and we end up getting a little brother for Ashton we have decided on naming him Alphonse after the Full Metal Alchemist character. Now the really tough part is going to be the waiting until the day we can bring our new little one home!! This makes me think back to when I was a kid waiting for Christmas or my Birthday! Ugh, is it January yet?

Oh, man, I had so many male corgi names the other day. Ridcully, Carrot, Gaspode, Om, and Rincewind from Pratchett's Discworld. (Actually, I think we went through most of the Discworld while trying to come up with the name for our puppy, who will be Anathema Device, AKA Ani. Yes, that's another Pratchett reference.)

Also Red Dwarf: Ace, Rimmer, Lister, Kryten, Smeghead.

My coworker just named her aussie Jango--she's a huge Boba Fett fan, but felt Boba for a dog was a little silly. (I think it would work.)

Zaphod, Ford, Marvin - Hitchhiker's Guide the Galaxy

Kvothe - Patrick Rothfuss's character from Name of the Wind

And then just about any male character from Jeeves and Wooster can turn into a dog's name without even trying: Oofy Prosser, Tuppy Glossop, Bingo Little, Gussie Finknottle, Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright.....all were meant to be the names of small corgis.

Not nerdy at all, but if I had three dogs, I might name them Whiskey, Tango, and Foxtrot.

You guys had awesome suggestions! After all that, though, my hubby is leaning towards an Arrested Development and wants to name him "Judge." That one is the top runner so far, at least. Not my choice, but since he let me name the girl after Cthulhu, I promised him he could name the boy.

@ Gail and Ashton

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA- replicant corgis MUST dream of electric sheep!

it does make one think that Phillip K Dick stories probably have LOTS of good names.

Also, husband (fellow geek) suggests:

Matrix names:  Neo, Morpheus   OR

Star Trek names.....we think "Spock" would be especially appropriate because of the ears!  (but of course Worf would be good too)

Beatrice, I hope you'll let us know what you decide!
