I'm a Pembroke Welsh Corgi lover. Had my 1st. Corgi when I was 9 years old (a gift from my Dad). Bought him while we were living in England. Corgi No. 2, Roy was bought in Singapore. He was imported from Perth, Australia. Just passed away in April, 2006 of heart failure at the age of 11 years and 3 months. In October, 2006, we bought our present and No. 3 Corgi, Ritz in Singapore. He was imported from Melbourne, Australia.
Besides Corgis, we had a Bull Terrier, Brutus. He was actually our dog no. 2. It was locally bred and bought in Singapore.
About My Corgi(s):
I have a 2.5 years old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Ritz. His colour is red/white. He's very energetic and does not sleep much. He loves attention, tummy rubs, walks and food (not neccesarily in that order). :o)
Thank you Florence. Frodo is sometimes almost "orange" brindle - it depends on the time of the year and the light. It is quite an unusual colour here as well.
Tina and puppy Tiger are my two Cardigan Corgis. My daughter Petra has three (Frodo. Saga and Holly). So together we have five of them in Fromax Cardigan kennel.
Pembroke Corgis are more usual in Sweden as well, but here Cardigan is coming on strongly.
They are a handful, I admit.. But I am retired, so i have time to spend with all of them while my daughter is working. And they are helpful as well, theh older corigis taking care of the young ones.
There are lots of Cardigan owners in my area as we have a very strong local club. We even have an international champ Cardi in the area! I've met his owners, but not him. Anyway, because of that there are lots of people around here with both. They're both such great breeds, it's hard to choose we we just have one of each!
I don't have any really special reason. On the hour or so long drive back from where we met up with his breeder and picked him up, I was sitting in the back seat of the car with him in a little cardboard box, trying to think of a name. Eventually, I simply chose Spider, because I felt it suited him somehow and because his tricolor markings reminded me of a Mexican Red-Knee tarantula, in a strange sort of way. :)
my boyfriend came up with the name. that was the agreement, id get to pick the breed and he got to name it. later i'll be naming our great dane! yikes!
Hello:) Yes this is Breezer and Kulka (brother and sister) after their show in Denmark when both of them became Danish Kennel Club Jubilee Junior Winners:)
Corgis definitely warm my heart. The first time I saw one I thought, "Now that is the silliest little dog I have ever seen. I want one!" And so my Corgi family began....
I'd love to added as a friend, but I'm not sure how! (Can hardly believe I'm that ignorant of the working of the site.) Bet you love your little Ritz cracker baby.
Ben is a very smart and funny puppy. At 11 weeks old he knows that he has to go outside to go to the bathroom. He is fun to watch grow and the interaction between the five year old female and the seven male is fun. they do teach him his place. But for the most part Ben tries to have fun and pick on the older ones. sometimes it is not the smartest thing to pick on the older ones.
this is insane, is that pic really your corgi???? everytime i google corgis to show someone what they look like, that pic comes up! everyone just loves this picture, i've forwarded it to everyone in my office! they all want corgis now because yours is so precious. this has got to be one of the cutest corgi pics ever...
Oh hahah I'm sorry :) Well I guess you picked a great avatar then ;) It is a cute picture! Was just making connections and remembered you had that photo.
Hi there ... Amiga gets lots and lots of love and affection to start. I used to feed her a special food that I purchased in Santa Fe, I can't remember what it was called .. but it was natural and kind of expensive. Since we moved to Mexico, she now just eats Dog Chow, as variety is slim here. I am worried though, even though she is high energy and alert, I also know that her life expectancy is catching up with her really fast.
Nothing happened to his paw. That's his toy newspaper lying on the grass infron of his foot :-P
He did have a little bit of surgery on his right leg though. He had a short leg and it left him with a limp. But he is all fixed up now and running like crazy.
catching up on the site. Toby and Lola belong to us. Ben is our foster pup. He will be put up for adoption In Jan. Bob and I work with our local corgi rescue group. We adopted Toby March 07, Lola came as a foster but we ended up adopting her too. Ben needs a a home with a family who can keep up with his energy! He is sweet but we arent the right permanent home for him, but i will miss him :(
When I lived in Alabama I found a breeder in Oklahoma. I had them flown to Birmingham from Dallas. Then when I came to Israel I flew them on the nonstop from Atlanta to Tel Aviv.
Thanks. I had list with about 30 names on it before I deceided on Bowie (Im a big fan of David). Beau in french means handsome too so it just seemed to fit :) Ritz is quite the cutie!
She's been real naughty today. I think she's starting to like hearing herself bark and she has defintely decided she likes chewing on flesh (fingers/hands, toes/feet, lips, ears.. cheeks, EVERYTHING, haha) rather than her abundant toy supply. But, she's so darn cute :)
Hi Florence, yes I met Sam and Sil, so so sweet. What a surprise for me, I nthought it was great, like celebrities! I just heard so much about this site and all of a sudden I see them at the beach,it was fun! you're newby is adorable...I can't wait to see more pics, don't you just love how they chew your feet! I've resigned to it and give any and all slippers,I'll be changing and adding more photos....I've got 3 very different personalities......you'll see. I can't wait to see Ritz........:)
Hi Florence,
Just saw your message....Ritz really looks so cute.....
My Ruby is also born in Melbourne. I have a Beagle too, also born in Melbourne.
Happy New Year!

Thank you... I think she is pretty too!!! Your little Ritz is awful cute too! Scooter is my first. I would have a pack of them if my husband would let me!!
Hi Florence, Pancake is my first Corgi but I've always grown up with dogs, mostly Pekingnese and Shiz Tzu's. I have to honestly say that Corgis are my most favorite and they have such a good humor too!
Hello Florence,
Thanks for the comment on Clive! Your little guy is cute! Clive is my first Corgi and I am finding out they are a wonderful breed. I previously owned 2 cocker spaniels for 16 years. The corgi is a different animal than the cocker breed! Good luck with our new pup. Liz
