Wow, then the videos have to be really short, like under a minute? or is there a way to get a lower MB? I tried a different setting on my camera (I use this for my videos) and it was really poor quality. Do you have any advice?
Also, what about the Java thingie; I thought that was supposed to let you put larger and longer videos on, is this correct? (I could be offbase here; not sure) Why would it be messing up my computer?
no, the videos don't need to be short, it is a matter of compression, there is a program call handbrake, you can download it here, it will allow you to compress your videos for specific purposes, in your situation, the ipod setting will be just fine, because it is lower resolution on the web.
If you don't want to use handbrake, you can upload your video to google video, they allow much larger and longer files. and then just cut and paste the code to mycorgi.com and it'll load it no problem, just like youtube.
Both youtube and mycorgi.com only allow videos under 100mb, mycorgi.com doesn't have a time limit, but youtube does have a under 10 min rule.
Java have nothing to do with video files being larger, it just communicate with your computer so that it allows you to upload videos to the website :)
Thanks Sam....I really appreciate your help. I live in an area with no tech support and it is just me trying to figure all this out by myself; sometimes it can be a real challenge. It is so rewarding when I learn something new though.
I realy love this site and how helpful and kind everyone is. I am so glad that you started this site. I had had a bad experience on another social site and vowed I would never join another but I find this one very different. Thanks again for being our fearless leader! Joy
Sam,
Thanks for being so supportive and taking the time to watch our videos. I was rather impressed by the quality in picture and detail on the My Corgi video upload. Youtube wasn't able to pick up the effects I added to the film like the film noise added to our Space-Walk movie. There's another one coming soon so stay tuned!
By the way your picture of the pup sleeping with a cell phone is very cute!
Sam! So great that you found Dodge and I. A certain sense of ahh....'Now I'm really a mycorgi member' washed over me when your name popped up in my email! I've followed the site for a while before joining and gotten lots of advice by reading strands, many of which you were in. Thank you for connecting! I love your site and Vienna and Mocha are crazy cute! I hope to get some photos up soon.
I don't know. All I know is that he was coming in with a corgi pup, and everyone was fawning over it. Whether or not he was a member I don't know. What if he is? What should I do? I'm scared.
Thank you for checking in. :) I haven't been on MyCorgi for awhile since I took in a second dog. A backyard breeder dumped a 3 year old Cairn Terrier on craigslist after overbreeding her for 3 years. In a moment of insanity, I took the little dog, who was flea-ridden, matted, poop hanging off her rear, and red irriated skin all over her back. She also tested positive for heartworm on her first trip to the vet. She is a total sweetheart though, and Charlie loves her to death. He thinks she was his first birthday gift last month. :)
Anyway things are going well, just busy adjusting to owning a second dog of a different breed. I'm studying up on how to get her into her best possible health. I'll be back here when things settle out and we get used to the new routine.
Sam, I don't know any other Corgi owners. I live in a very small City in NC. This is why this site is so very important to me and I appreciate it so much!
This site is great! Thanks for welcoming us, we look forward to posting many more pictures of Midas. The forum tool has been very helpful as this is our first ever Corgi. Been reading lots of good information!
Sam sorry I did not get back to you sooner. The NC picnic is scheduled for Sept 20 and we will be going again this year. Have you heard any more about the Florida picnic? I know Betty is not doing it but some of her group was supposed to be taking it over.
Hi Sam! I love your site! It is so great to talk with other corgi parents! I notice that when I log out of the site and come back a day later that I am still logged in. Is this normal?

I saw that you're dogs swim. I've taken Jasper but he doesn't seem to love it. I have to load the video on here soon. He loves to swim back to shore to safe his life :) Any suggestions?
