About Me:
My fiance and I work at a local restaurant here in Santa Rosa, CA and felt the need of a dog companion.. We researched all kinds of breeds and finally found the perfect one - a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
We really lucked out. Destro is a sable male, 9 months old. He's such a fun little doggy. He loves to learn new tricks, enjoys morning walks and afternoons at the park. He loves people, other dogs and leaves!
I have:
Pembroke
Walks are so much easier now that we have our gentle leader!!! I think he's getting used to it..

Well Song has a black nob, black around the neck and the pepppering on the head. A little black is showing in her back but just a little bit. Her Mom is a Sable and white her Dad is a Black headed tri so who knows. Song is nine months now though. It looks like her fur is really changing. Its getting courser on top and she does not look to have any puppy fur left. We feel you never know until the winter after thier first Birthday to be sure. My tri is going to be a year and a half on Saturday. The two dogs are about 9 months apart. Carrie is a sweetie and Song is my sassy one. They love each other though. Play until they drop. My yard will never be the same but it is so much fun to watch them. Have a nice evening ---Dot

Wow Destro has the black trim around the neck line like Song. When did he turn back to Sable again? Do you remember what age? He is a great looking pup! Song is now 9 months and is mostly red with a bit of sable and shading of black. It is fun to watch them. She is now blowing coat on her back end we will see as the weather gets warmer here.------Dot

Hi again!! Just read your other post about how to teach your puppy how to not get so excited about guests coming over......I have learned alot on this as our corgi just turned 3 and still have trouble with this one but am working on it...Iwish we would have found what to do about it sooner, but this is what I found out from one of the trainers I have talked to, we are suppose to crate lance whenever we have company come over, do not pay any attention to him making a fuss when he is calm we let him out. What you are suppose to do when they are puppies is to make sure your guests only pay attention to them when they are calm such as sitting and then they may pet.....and pay attention but not when they are jumpy and excited......the key is to make sure they are calm......what is very hard is to get your guest to listen to you!!!
It is easier to get the puppy to listen over the guest alot of times...lol Good Luck with the guests!!! Training is never ending just when you think they have it down.....dont stop......keep training! They are soo much fun arent they?

Welcome! What an adorable little pup you have there! I just read your post in the summer pup group about switching foods and your vet recommended Science Diet. Most vets are not very trained in the nutrion dept. as I have learned on this site. Science diet (which I aslo learned here) is not a very good healthy food, and the reasoning your vet gave doesnt make much sense to me) I thought Blue Buffalo was actually a nutrious dog food, if I remember correctly, how come you want to switch off of it? You can go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com and it will give you give you very helpful information on picking a nutrious dog food. This site is very helpful and informative and has alot of knowledgeable people on here. You will love mycorgi. You can look under forums and look up food and you will come across a bunch of discussions on there about what to feed puppy.....it is a very common question. Looking forward to hearing from you. Having a girl corgi is great and she gets along well with our male lab mix, Jack! We also have 3 cats, she loves to try and herd them but they don't listen to her. Hahahaha! She chases just the one cat, Bella, because I think Bella swats at her also! Lots of fun, she is a character and has a spunky personality! She is soooooooooo funny!
