About Me:
Florida State certified electrical contractor and International certified electrical inspector. I'm also an artist , musician, and semi-pro pool player.
About My Corgi(s):
My baby is an 11 year old PWC male named Cyberfox. He has been partially lame in his right rear leg since about March 2007. He gets around with the aid of a K-9 cart. He is a retired agility dog and is certified in herding, tracking, obedience and was also a therapy dog. He is currently active and happy and still full of mischief.
As of today,January 23, 2009, my puppy isn't doing so well. He has lost all mobility in his rear end and he is quickly losing the use of his front legs as well. The doctors all say that respiratory failure is next. I won't let my precious baby go like this. This disease is the cruelist form of punishment I have ever seen in a beloved animal. I take him to a veterinary acupuncturist every two weeks for treatment. This seems to maintain a comfort for him and holds the disease at bay for fleeting moments. I have been carrying him up two flights of stairs to go to bed every night and carrying him down every morning for three months now. I will continue to do everything for him that I can. What I am having a hard time understanding is, why him??? Only a mere 5% of corgis get degenerative myolopathy. The average age of the onset of the disease is 11.2 years of age. This is exactly when he started showing symptoms. If he lives until April 8, 2009 we will celebrate his 13th birthday.

Does the grief ever end?

Posted on February 19, 2010 at 12:35pm 15 Comments

It's been almost 8 months since I had to say goodbye to my precious Cyber and it still rips me apart like it did the day he left me. I'm OK for the most part but there are still 'triggers' present that send me into a downward spiral. I've never had this kind of attachment with other pets I've had. There was something magical about Cyber that has emplanted itself into me and won't let go. I feel like he is still here. I walk into the back yard expecting him to jump out at me like he used to do.… Continue

I LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE ON WEDNESDAY 07/01/2009

Posted on July 3, 2009 at 8:16pm 18 Comments

My best friend in the world lost his battle with the most terrible and cruel disease on the face of the planet, Degenerative Myelopathy. I noticed Cyber wasn't eating his food on Tuesday night. He has never turned down his chow in the 13 years he has blessed me with his presence. He even refused a piece of turkey sausage at breakfast the next morning. I rushed him to our pet clinic where we have been taking him for his acupuncture treatments and the vet said his gums were almost white and he… Continue

GREASED PIG

Posted on January 27, 2008 at 12:35pm 1 Comment

As you can see by the photos on my home page, Cyberfox is confined to a K-9 cart in order to make his life more enjoyable. This, however, does'nt deter him from playing his favorite game. We affectionately call the game'greased pig'. The 'game' involves three willing participants. One participant to run and hide, one to to be the 'greased pig'(Cyberfox's role) and the third to hold their hands over the eyes of the 'greased pig' while…

The Possum hunter.

Posted on January 2, 2008 at 8:43pm 3 Comments

Two nights ago, I took Cyber out in our back yard for his 11pm walk. Cyber is confined to a K-9 cart as he has lost the ability to utilize his rear legs to support his weight. After we were out about 10 minutes, Cyber took of on a dead run for our boat dock. I ran after him with thoughts of having to dive in the cold lake to retrieve his fuzzy butt before he sank to the bottom. He made it about 30 yards before I caught him and then I realized he had caught and tackled a full grown Possum. He… Continue

Fun day at the Vet.

Posted on December 10, 2007 at 8:40pm 2 Comments

Today, my girlfriend took Cyber for his once a week acupuncture treatment at our local vets office. After Cyber's weight was taken, she turned around to put him back in his wheelchair and he was gone. She heard wild laughter coming from the receptionist's area so she ran out to find Cyber, scooting along the floor at warp speed, heading for the exit. He didn't want the acupuncture treatment today and escape was on his mind. She told me about this escapade when I got home from work and everytime… Continue

Haha I just saw your comment! And of course I would add a fellow Ohio corgi owner! I live about 2 minutes away from Indianola so I know right where that is! Where did you and Cyberfox relocate to?
